I read the thread, they never fixed it.There is a place on ebay repairing the boards for 70$ we ship the board to them,so probably 100$ round trip then who knows how long it'll work.like most samsung/goldstar/LG junk this ones going in the dumpster

thank you, the model number was the trick 6900 does look allot like the 6950
I wouldn't have thought to try that. They all tell us it has to be the exact same board number.

no threads, I checked before posting.Just hoped someone would think it was an easy fix like the board. Edge lit backlights are a 2 hour nightmare but low in replacement cost.

    Hello,
I have a samsung tv when first plugged in the samsung logo comes up then immediately goes out but the backlight stays on but a little bit dimmer after the logo goes out.The strange thing here is likely a connection to the problem bc pressing or holding down the power button does nothing to start over the process. The only way to see the logo again is to unplug the tv and plug it back in.This set has supply/tcon/main all in one board. Has anyone seen this?Should I pay 35$ to throw it away? tw this is not the BNXXXX board but the,
    VN43US100U3XBE / 3200211001090A board.

Thank you! That was super helpful I saw the UE43NU7100f as low as $18.97 a set and wondered if it was the same as the un43nu7100f at $36.I will use your advice on the flashlight method and "IF" the screen looks ok I will turn the lexan upside down for a clean "unburned side" and give it a try and post. What the heck it'll be only 20$ and if it works I'll post it here and it may help someone in the near future. But it will be probably 3 weeks, since shipping is free and it is overseas.but stay tuned and I will post my results.

WOW..What a job taking this thing apart! I wonder if I damaged the screen prying the black trim off talk about a boobie trap. But it's the LED's,all the diodes are burnt except for five and the clear lexan material has black melt marks at every burnt led,I want to spend the $36 on the LED's just to see if I cracked the screen.LOL

  • List of HDTV's with on/off event timers

    Hello,
I have an elderly 93 year old mom with dementia, she's using an older 46 inch Hitachi projection style TV which is probably going to quit.I have to set it to turn on and off 3 times a day on at 9am off at 11am then on again at 5pm and off at 10pm I have it set to turn on at 2am and off at 2;05am in case she accidentaly turns it on then leaves and goes to bed,(this is a fail safe so the thing doesn't run all night)I have been having a heck of a time on google to do searches on TV's with on/off timers/scheduling timers/event timers etc with no luck.Does anyone here on the forum know...

    Hi Bud

Yes, I am able to see the menu options and tried turning up+down the backlight and if it made any difference at all it was hard to tell. The vendor hot price said it sounded like a bad eprom and has already sent out a replacement board N/C.

Got a second main board from another vendor selling new boards and now the back light turns on very dim but uniformly dim all over the back through the tabs on the back of the TV I can barely see anything. If I unplug the main full brightness.Could it be the LED's?

Well....I got the new main board in from electro parts and nothing. The TV turns on when it's plugged in and no backlight and I cannot turn it off by the remote or the power switch.I called e-parts back and will try the power supply. But still when the main is unplugged the backlights all turn on.

Thank you both for the quick responses I'll post when the board come in.
    Bud,
I might have lucked out on this one.It might be interesting to note that unplugging the main from the power supply made the LED light up,is that normal?

  • Re: Samsung UN46EH5000F no backlight

Thank you for the quick responce.I was following the procedure until I unpluged the main from the power board to check the voltage at the 450volt cap and it showed about 385v and i saw all the leds light up.So I'm hoping a 23$ board from eparts on ebay will do the trick. Most people with this TV are having LED backlight issues. But I can't imagine a bad LED would light up.
The other thing I failed to mention was when the main board is connected,I can turn the TV on it makes the samsung "jingle" the backlight is OFF but I can barely...

    Hi Bud,
I have the same TV and when I disconnect the main board the backlight turns on by itself.Does that mean the LED's are ok and the main boards the problem?

    Sanyo DP37649

    Hi Folks,
I have a Sanyo DP37649 color/contrast of the MENU is perfect,The blue, red and green are right on but the color/and contrast is way off regardless of it being on antenna,HDMI or video input dvd.I looked online for a factory reset and it took me here to hold #1 on the remote and volume down at the same time, and it said volume would go to half way etc.But nothing happened.I'm pretty shure the boards are ok bc the menu screens look perfect. It looks like someone accidently got into service menu and fowld it up.Is there a master reset to factory default.(but i don't mean setting the...

    Vizio

This solution helps with the flashing VIZIO led and no power up...
Hold the power button in, have someone plug the tv in and hold the power button for a minute(A little longer than a minute is ok)
Then plug the TV in let the VIZIO display flash for a couple of minutes or untill it stops blinking.Turn the TV on it should be ok.This problem was found online for the new LED TV's that lock up.

  • Phillips 42PFT5332d/37

    Hi Folks,

I had a Phillips 42 in. LCD come into the shop today with NO backlight but had sound. After looking for the usual suspect bad caps in the power supply (which there were none bulged)After inspecting the left side small inverter I found the 2, 470uf 35volt caps were bulged and the 10 amp pico fuse was open. This seems to be a fairly common problem with similar model Phillios TV's

    Cheers,
