The issue isn't the software. No matter what I do, the chip is "unknown". If I manually select the reference wb25q256jv and try to read it, I get an error message saying the memory doesn't match. The actual reference is wb25q256jven, but it's nowhere to be found.
With Neo Programmer, it's the same thing. When I run the automatic detection, it does find something: AT24C01_7bits (ATMEL) and X24C01_7bits (XICOR). I still try to initiate a read, the software indicates it's a success, but in reality, nothing is read.

I'm reaching out about a BIOS flashing issue.
I was able to get ahold of a friend's CH341 programmer, which comes with an SOIC8 clip. However, I doubt the clip will work well for reading a chip that is soldered directly onto the motherboard.
On my HP 440 G10 laptop, the BIOS chip is a W25Q256JVEN. The issue is that in the ASProgrammer software, it only offers the following part numbers: W25Q256JV-IM-JM and W25Q256JV-IQ-JQ. Therefore, I don't know which one to choose.
