Hi Tom - I am new to the forum but am having similar experiences in a Sony Betamovie camera. Would like to know the outcome of your situation. Did you replace the caps and was that the problem?

Hi, everyone. I just joined the forum, which I came across by doing a Google search for bad capacitors. I am trying to learn about capacitors because I am a Sony Betamax enthusiast. I have a Betamax machine and a couple of Betamovie cameras that are having some problems. It had been suggested to me that maybe it was a cap issue. So I thought I would check it out to mak the repairs myself.
