Re: DELL P2210 - SMPS +5V reads ~+3.5V
Main filter capacitor has around 310v on it ( it's measured 86uF ).
I have tryed to resolder diodes and resistors on 12v and 16v rails but it's still the same.
U850 has problem starting, I will try changing optocoupler and TL431 on feedback.
Tnx!...

C878 have fluctuating voltage 12~14v
D852 and R856 are ok.

Re: DELL P2210 - SMPS +5V reads ~+3.5V
All diodes check fine. There are no shorts on voltage outputs on +5v, +12v or +16v.
The diode that was shorted were on the +16v output.
U2 Dual mosfet is also fine.
There is audible clicking noise coming from somewhere on the board.
On second reading there are ~ 3.5v on the 5v rail, 9.5v on 12v rail and 12.5v on 16v rail....Last edited by bgaservis; 10-17-2015, 02:29 PM.

Re: DELL P2210 - SMPS +5V reads ~+3.5V
Update, all sec. voltages are low at fluctuating 1.5v. It looks like there is some short somewhere...

Interestigly I have one dead PSU here also.
D855 was shorted, changed but still no power. I think I got also low 5v.

Re: Acer aspire 5742g no VGA voltage
yes, it looks like that is the last thing to do
I will update this thread when I change GPU!
Tnx all!

Re: Acer aspire 5742g no VGA voltage
U3 and U22 are not installed on the board, blank spots...
It looks like discrete (Nv) chip is always active ?

Yes, there is 3.3V on +LCDVDD.

Re: Acer aspire 5742g no VGA voltage
JLVDS1 pin 1-3 = 11-19v ( depends if on battery or AC )
U13 pin 1-3 = 1.5v

Re: Acer aspire 5742g no VGA voltage
If you mean on backlight, then no. Backlight was ok and is ok before and after reflow.
Display has light, but no picture.

Re: Acer aspire 5742g no VGA voltage
Problem was here before reflow.
Shouldn't reflow renew contacts and not loosen them ?

Re: Acer aspire 5742g no VGA voltage
KB926 replaced, got VGA power.
But now is the problem, there is no display at LCD screen(backlight is on), but works ok on external VGA connector.
Reflashed bios and EC ROM, changed processor, memory, reflowed gpu, tyred another LCD panel no avail!
Checked TXOUT and TXCLK pins at lcd connector, seems ok, got voltage.
I'm out of ideas.
What to check next ? Have I forgotten something ?

Re: Acer Aspire 5349-2592 No power
Yes, you should get 19V. If DC jack is ok, you have short somewhere.

Re: Acer Aspire 5740g dead (no power - no lights)
Today I have fixed one with this same symptoms, eg dead, no 3.3V no 5V.
Checked supply of the TPS51123 everything ok, but no S5 enable, ok move next to SIO.
Supply is ok, but there is no RSMRST, next checked with scope U16 EC bios chip, no comunication, removed bios chip, reprogrammed it, checked with scope, it's working, power button everything ok, problem solved
