  • Re: Panasonic TC-P50G25 10 blinking light failure.

    Sorry about the confusion.
after connecting the power cord, we get 2 sets of 2 quick clicks, then we can power it up.
Once we press the power button (or press power button on the remote), we get a set of 2 quick clicks, the power light lights red then a couple of seconds later, 2 more quick clicks and the light goes out. Then it starts a slow blink that I now interpret as a 1 blink. Over and over.
I was wondering how fast a multi-blink error would occur.
I have determined that Vda is 60v, 3.3 VDC is good...

How quickly or slowly would this blink sequence occur? It seems my TV blinks over and over, how long is the pause between sequences? Maybe what I am seeing is 1 blink code over and over.

Same TV here, pulled white ribbons on A board, P11 P35 and P2, same 10 blinks. Power supply?
EDIT: I investigated the blinks some more, it just blinks and blinks over and over with no apparent delay when all leads are connected.
So I'm not seeing any kind of sequence, I counted 24 blinks in a row before I stopped counting.
    This is what I observed:
Plugged in power supply, got 2 quick clicks, then several seconds later, 2 more quick clicks. I then attempt to turn on the set.
    Power light comes on, is...

  • Re: LG Flatron 47" Turns on for 10-15 seconds then screen goes black

Hello, welcome. First, caps do not need to be swollen to be bad.
I just recently fixed a couple of Hanns-G 28" monitors that both had bad caps on the power supplies that looked great upon visual inspection. Check the 5V outputs of the power supply once the image goes out to see if there is a problem there. Since the backlights do not go out, I would go to the video/controller board first. One of the 2 monitors I had had about the same issue you do, the image was there for about 10 seconds, then...

  • Proview 32LB30QD power supply problem

Fresh off my success with 2 Hanns-G 28" monitors, I'm tackling a 32" ProView TV/DVD combo set that the power ligh lights up blue, then flashes. I have replaced all the capcitors on the power supply, which is a SIPS32V8P Version 2.0 power supply. I had a problem with the 5VSB circuit, and now it is solid. This power supply uses 5V and 12V only. There is an LED on the PS that lights up for about 2 seconds and goes out. The 5V mains are solid for those 2 seconds, and then go back to 0. The 12V however, only reads about 2 volts and then drops back to 0. I cannot find a schematic for this...

  • Re: Hanns-G 28" monitor 10 seconds to black issue

Yes, those 2 were the culprits. Now replaced with 100 uF 50V caps that I had on hand. It's currently humming away about 3 feet away from me on my daughter's computer, she's thrilled to have such a big monitor, I replaced a 17" 4:3 aspect ratio monitor with it. I'm using the first one I fixed that had additional power supply caps that didn't come in the repair kit fail a couple of weeks after I fixed it the first time, detailed in one of the other H-G threads.

  • Re: Hanns-G 28" monitor 10 seconds to black issue

Final update: Took out the video/logic board, and swapped out the 2 100-16V caps nearest the voltage regulators. Replaced them with 100-50V, and put it back together. No jitter, and video remained on for 5 minutes+. I think they are good to go, both of them. I couldn't have done it without the knowledge on this forum.

  • Re: Hanns-G 28" monitor 10 seconds to black issue

Update. I noticed the video has a bit of jitter before it goes to black, and shining a light on the screen reveals no video. Moving from backlight circuit to the logic board. I think I had to swap the logic board out of this one to the other to make one good one before the other failed again, and I have revived again. I'll be looking for a complete list of capacitors this board uses and swap them all out.

  • Hanns-G 28" monitor 10 seconds to black issue

I've been following the 2 main threads regarding these Hanns-G power supply problems. I was able to revive 1 of 2 monitors successfully, and I have restored the "Blue light" to the second unit, but I still have a "10 seconds to black" problem with this one. I will start with the 24V circuit on the power supply and then move on to the inverter board. I'll also check to make sure I can see the image when I shine a light on the screen after it goes dark. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress. I'm very happy I was able to revive the first one again, as I've become quite fond...

  • Re: Hanns g 28" Monitor Power Supply Question

Update 2: After replacing the same 3 caps in the second power supply, I now have good solid blue light, but now the backlight shuts down after about 10 seconds. On to troubleshooting that issue, I'll start with the 24V circuit and move on to the inverter board after that.

  • Re: Hanns g 28" Monitor Power Supply Question

UPDATE: I found the 5VSB test point by looking at a picture on one of the other threads on these monitors, it was bouncing all over the place. We had replaced the 2 470-10V caps already, but I put in 2 470-25V caps, still no go, but the 5VSB was then stable. I noted the new caps had started to swell a bit already. The I looked at a picture that had the values of some of the smaller caps that didn't come in the repair kit, and I noted 3 22-35V caps that I happened to have lying around, so I replaced the 3 of them. The traces started...

  • Re: Hanns g 28" Monitor Power Supply Question

Where would one probe to test the 5VSB on this power supply to make sure it is working? I have 2 of these Hanns-G 28" monitors and both went belly-up. I was able to get one of them working again but now I have the "press the power button multiple times and sometimes it comes on" problem. Today it came on "blue light" for about a second and back off, then nothing. All the "big" caps have been replaced, but not the small sized ones.

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hello, Greg Miller from Eugene, Oregon. Started looking here when trying to repair a Hanns-G 28" monitor. Power supply issues, lifted traces, bad caps, now looking to simply replace the power supply, but they are almost as scarce as hen's teeth. Will keep searching here as I try to repair other's flat panels.
