Thank you for helping me bro, I tested the first file (test1_Nvidia) and after i turned on the laptop, it booted to the BIOS and to windows, but didn't display anything at all, the screen was turned off completely (shutdown or no electricity).

So I didn't test the other file, but went back to to test an earlier file you uploaded (POST #219): New_BIOS.zip and downloaded it again and flashed it, it worked and everything was fine, even the GPU, just perfect.

And to make sure that everything is okay, I booted the BIOS and installed the manufacturer file (I didn't rename it,...

Hey bro, could you modify G712LWS file? I mean the same way as you did to the latest file.

I found that G712LW (Without S) posts driver for RTX2060, while mine 2070S, which caused the windows not to detect the correct GPU I have.

    Thanks in advance....

  • A guy named (Stefan Steff) uploaded an image file that fixed the BIOS and now my PC turns on.

However, windows can't detect Nvidia GPU that is in the laptop, I'm not sure what is the reason, but I'll try to update the drivers, then reinstall windows, and if it worked I'll write another post as feedback.

The laptop worked, but it couldn't detect the Nvidia graphics card, would that be because of the other chip that I erased at the beginning? Even though i reinstalled the same backup image into it later?

Or what could be the problem, do you have any idea bro?...

Broooo, broo, thank you so much!!
You don't know how much happy I am!!!

    IT WORKED!!

    Man thank you so much!

BTW, I'm still a student that takes his monthly income from my family, though, I'll cut from my earnings this month and donate to you or the website, IDK actually for who to donate.

But thank you again, thank you so much. 🌹🌹

    EDIT:
    1: It turned on normally.
    2: It opened the BIOS.
3: THERE IS NO BIOS PASSWORD. (thank you till the end of your life and who ever gave you this experience and who ever...

  • There is an information that I also forgot to add to the description: The firmware image version that was installed on the BIOS before the corruption is 314 (the latest version), but not the 311 (the older version).

I'm unsure if this information can help fix the corrupted BIOS, but I thought it would be helpful to know.

Still, I prefer to downgrade to 311 (if possible), because the 314 decreased the maximum speed of the fans by nearly 20% (from 7300± RPM maximum to 6500 RPM maximum)....

  • Thanks for trying to help, i flashed it and turned on the pc but the pc turns on for a while and then turns off, it doesn't boot and doesn't even open to the bios interface via (F2).

I also forgot to mention that the command line below is the one that corrupted the bios, but not the one i wrote before:
    Code:
    .\AFUWINx64.exe G712LWS_patched.rom /P /B /N /REBOOT
    It was /P /B and /N
Which means that the Main BIOS block, Boot Block, and the NVRAM region are being corrupted (maybe not all of them, idk) when I flashed the bios using the (patched) file via Aptio 5 afu...

    [HELP] G712LWS BIOS capsule

I need someone that can capsulate one of the bios files below, and i prefer the older bios version so i can flash it using CH341A tool into the bios chip.
The manufacturer BIOS files are bigger than the BIOSbackup1.bin files by 256KB and I don't know how to fix or recompile it.

You can see in this link a conversation between me and other people (Starting at page 10) who tried to help me (thanks to their efforts), but i still couldn't fix it and the laptop is considered as dead until now.

Also, I uploaded a backup file for the bios that I extracted by using CH341A...

    Update:
I flashed the copy you sent into the BIOS chip successfully, and turned on the PC, but still the same, it only turns on but only black screen, and then it turns off automatically.
I also tried to use the flashing via the USB (G712LWS.CAP & G712LWS.BIN) while click and hold on (Ctrl + Home) or (Fn + Esc) but it kept turning off automatically.

    Additional information:
    - Led lights and keyboard turn on but then they turn off again as soon as the laptop turns off.

    Update for previous posts:
I was able to install the copy back into...

    - Flash => Complete
    - Verification = Complete
    - Read & Verify after flash => Complete

    - Verify flashed backups' md5 value => complete => 3 backups with the same md5 value

    Before installing:
    C:\Users\HP\Downloads\BIOS>certutil -hashfile New_BIOS.bin md5
    MD5 hash of New_BIOS.bin:

    CertUtil: -hashfile command completed successfully.

    Last update:
After I have made tens of researches,
1: I figured out that the WINBOND chip needs an adapter (1.8v) plugged into the ch341a programmer to be able to write on it without problems (luckily I'm it is not broken because of the many times i tried to write back the backup images into it).

2: Later I decided to connect the bios into the flasher, and i took many backups (see the attachment file), they were all with the same md5 value.

    Problems I faced:
    - Firstly, the flasher couldn't read the real name of the bios chip, but a one the is really...

    is it this one?

and another question, if the flashing succeeded, after turning on the device, will the other chip recover its code? because its erased automatically when i tried to write that BIOS file into it.

    EDIT:
I have 3 valid backups with the same md5 value that I extracted from the chip "WINBOND 25Q80EWNI15 2015" today, but the chip doesn't accept to flash any of them....

    isnt it this chip?
there isn't any other chip on the motherboard that the clip can stick on except this one in the image, also the programmer detected it automatically.

I bought an SPI programmer (CH341A), and below is the backup file I got from the BIOS (Yes, I watched many videos, and checked that the tool is connected correctly and can detect the BIOS and all backup file's md5 value was the same).

I tried to write the Asus manufacturer file to the BIOS but I got this error:

It didn't work for me, i tried all possible solutions, (Ctrl + Home) and (Fn + Esc), also tried to discharge it (for 30s and more), and nothing happens, i guess ill go buy a programmer or taking it to a repair service, I'll type a feedback about what happens later....

It somehow turned on, but only the keyboard lights, and then nothing happens. It doesn't boot neither to BIOS nor to windows nor to USB.
    Just nothing....
