So I opened a power supply that had been hit by a power surge and the fuse is gone and two 16n25c mosfets are shorted. I am not that good on crossing mosfets but I have two smk1430 mosfets which are n-channel and I wondered if I could use them or do I need to wait for the actual part for a week?

Working on several Samsung panels that all have the same problem. The problem is inside the panel and is similar to the power problem that causes the white screen such as on this magnavox panel. Almost certainly it is one of the voltages that feeds the tft's because all the signals check out between a good one and a bad one except for a signal that comes out of the board that may be called stvp or hgt. The diagram shows the good and the bad panel and the signal voltages and the feedback signal in question is the fourth from the right.

So after using a heat gun on the connections that connect into the panel itself from the T-con brd I found this on the net by putting in the t-con brd number.

Ok, I got both these from my hairdresser and they both had caps swollen in ps. Then they came up but it took a while to warm up until they display picture. So now when you turn them on you get some lines sometimes and other times just the backlight until they warm up. Anyone know what this is?

Thanks, I didn't think it could be both but your probably right.

I got this plasma to work on and it has a very bad pic. I have worked on many but this one had corrosion on the main board and it looks like the lower Y board as well bad. The vertical red lines I think are from the main board corrosion and the other lines are due to the y-lower.. Anyone have any other ideas?

The only voltage that seemed off was VE and it was 75 tag said it should be 1...

I've worked on a few of these and changed the 450v caps but also found that soldering joints on the micro down in the corner by the led on the power supply can keep the inverter from turning on. The soldering joints did not look bad but they were.
