That's worked, I was able to program the chip on-board/without de-soldering it.

Windows shows my serial number and activated windows licence.

I've got a thinkbook 15 G3 ACL that hung during a bios update and now laptop starts with blank screen, no sound and just fan whirring and caps and esc light on.

Bios chip is Winbond W74M25JW, which i've read with Neoprogrammer - file attached.

S/N of laptop is MP279KG9.

I'd like to flash it without desoldering the chip, is that likely to work?

Any help appreciated, this is my first request so apologies if I've missed something.

I'm a 40yr old i.t manager, mostly working with Lenovo and some HP laptops.

First manually flashed a bios in 1999, back when bios chips could be removed from desktop motherboards without any soldering, swapped the bios chip live while the system was on & running. Simpler times....
