  • Re: new foxconn mobo no video signal

ah, well since he didn't do any of that, and it is 10 months old now, and of that is probably a forgone thing. It has only been hooked up like 6 times to try to find the problem. Wonder what a local shop will charge just to check the cpu or mobo to see if they either is bad. my only recourse now. thanks for the help all.

ok, here are some of the specs. It has an amd apu quadcore cpu ( a8-3870k), 4G DDR3 1333 ram. don't know what bios...no comments on mobo or spec sheet. I have limited material and resources to check it out., no spare cpus or ram or psu. we did just hook it up to his other puter using his video card and psu...still nothing...? we removed the cpu and powered it up and the fans turn just as they did with the cpu in place???

It's been a long time since last on. Stepson took his mobo home with him, so I've not had it to look at. Now, he has bought new setup and given me the foxconn one to have. So as I have taken time to look closely at it, done some research, I am still at same place. No post. No pins are bent (it came as a set with mobo) from Newegg. Moved the ram to restart and no change. Used my psu from other puter and no change. Don't have another cpu,on limited income now retired, so hoping to get this set going. grrrrr. looking for any new advice/help. thanks...

well, I finally tested the fuse to ground and found it to be dead zero...I guess that is about as shorted as one can get. SO, if anyone wants the tv, make an offer and consider shipping and we will be glad to let you have it. I guess the main board is bad then. I'm just gonna get a ballast for my samsung dlp 3d capable tv instead of this one. thanks for the help all who responded anyway. I appreciate it.

I can check power at certain points if that wouild isolate issues, I do have digitial multimeter and no how to use it. one note, I used to be a HP tech for call in repair work...many years ago (XP release date). but not sure where to start with a brand new system that has yet to be operated.

  • new foxconn mobo no video signal

My son bought a "kit" with Foxconn A75A motherboard (N15235) with an AMD quad core porcessor, ddr3 ram, and onboard graphics card. Everything is new. So, when we hook it up....fans turn...no video signal. We use my monitor which is working, and still get no video signal. so we don't know if anyting is workig or not. No os is loaded (of course since we can't see anything anyway). Any ideas how to get the video working or what may be wrong? also no beep because no speaker is there. so we don't know if it passes boot or not.
any help is appreciated, today if possible, he goes back...

  • samsung hlt5075 dlp 3 lights flashing

I like the advice and knowledge of this forum. Hopefully I can get help enough to fix one of the two tvs I have.

This samsung has all three lights flashing freen. I replaced bulb...no change (osram bulb). Noticed that the ballast does not "flash" so wonder if it could be bad or how to check it. I do have service manual now, just downloaded it. Any help is much appreciated.

ok, been busy and moved and wife had a stay in hospital. now we need a tv to watch so I am back to this visio. I did some checking again and found the service manual for the vizio and it has a troubleshooting section mentioning checking the voltage at f2...finally found where it was located and, much to my surprise (yeah, sure) the f2 surface mount fuse was blown. it has 5.1 volts on one side, but ziltch on the other. Plus a continuity check showed the fuse blown anyway. now, will that stop the vizio light from coming on,,,and,,,stop the...

well, I just checked and found I do have 5 volts at the pins on one of the ps plugs going out to the main board. Only 4 pins have 5.1 volts, but no other pins have any power at all.??? now what?

where do I check the 5 volts at? I do know that there are no lights anywhere. I tried to check the 24 and 12 volt pins but got zero. supposed to be a good board, but who knows from ebay.

well, I put in a board I bought from ebay and plugged it in...no sparks at least. but no power either. It does nothing. I guess I gotta check voltages somewhere now, huh? Moving this weekend so it may wait till I have moved. but...where do I check? thanks for all the insight so far.
