Re: samsung on off issue
Very curious to know if you fixed it or not. I have the same problem. I replaced both
20N60C3R out sheer speculation. No change. I am going to take Tho's advise and swap out the thermistors. I will post back with the results.

Re: HP CPTOH-0603 Sustain Failure?
I did pull the buffers and found a couple blown fets on both bottom buffers. Swapped some from a good upper board from one so I have one working TV and waiting on a couple fets for the other. I just have to keep remembering that it's not the same scenario as with the Samsung boards and it's not always the Y-Sus. Thank you very much for your response!

HP CPTOH-0603 Sustain Failure?
Hi I am trying to trouble these TV's, I have 2 of them. Does this look like a sustain/buffer fail or just a sustain. I cannot remember exactly what sustain board is in them right now but I do know they are prone to failure and are the exact boards that are known to blow out in the 50" Vizio plasma PHDTV10A-Not sure if thats the model number or not.
I was just hoping that someone might be able to tell me if they have seen this type of failure before as I have not.
Thanks again!...

Re: SMD Resistor (Stumped)
I may just treat it as a 6.8 Resistor. The idea of it just being an extra placeholder for a 4 digit code makes since.
I do hope the panel is not bad but we will see. I will try to replace the resistor and if that doesn't work I will replace the board. If that doesn't work than I will know that I have ruined the panel
Thanks for the advise guys.

Re: SMD Resistor (Stumped)
They are blown so it measured nothing. The same resistors next to these on a different channel measured 4.1 ohm.
I suppose that is my answer but I still have never seen them with this symbol and would like to know what it means.Last edited by DavidDunn; 12-13-2012, 11:47 PM.

SMD Resistor (Stumped)
Hello,
I have an odd resistor that I cannot seem to figure out.
This is a logic buffer from a Panasonic Plasma. I shorted the resistors out when I dropped a screw that grounded out the board and now causes a black strip in the screen. I know I could replace the board but I would rather save a few bucks and try to replace the resistors.
I have never seen this resistor with a negative ( - ) symbol on a resistor and cannot find any information about it on the web. Does this negative mark change the value or should I just treat this as a 6.8 ohm resistor. ...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello,
My name is David and I found that this forum has helped me troubleshoot a lot of boards on google, I figured I should join in case there was something I could not find on the net. The people here seem to know a great deal about hardware and being that I am a newbie to this biz will help me a great deal. I appreciate forums like this and I would like to thank each and every one of your help in the future.
