Re: Philips LCD 42" TV Help needed
I hope these pix are ok to view. You can see by the last pic what I was talking about. It appears that half of the solder pad is missing for some reason. The one near towards the bottom of the board. Any help on how to repair this would be great. It still stays on for a bit then once again shuts off.

Re: Philips LCD 42" TV Help needed
I will for sure but not tonight. I tried all I can while on duty here. I resoldered that pad as best as I can for now, and are trying the TV now. Thanks to everyone so far that has helped. I'll post a pic as soon as I can but for tonight I think i'm done.
Thanks again this is a great forum with loads of advise and threads...Last edited by hucklebuck73; 10-06-2012, 08:33 PM.

Re: Philips LCD 42" TV Help needed
Thanks, I'll be looking at solder joints all around anyways. So will the solder take to the board hole? if the pad is missing.

Re: Philips LCD 42" TV Help needed
ok i'll try that, I am talkign about the lil metel circle (i think it is) around the hole were you slide the cap leg through. that has come loose so when you slightly move the cap you can see it not making contact with the board. I hope i am describing it right..

Re: Philips LCD 42" TV Help needed
Ok I can try that for sure. Did you happen to read above two posts about the one solder joint that was loose, and is there a trick to getting it soldered back good to the board? I'm at work and have to go do something for a bit but I'll be back retouching solder joints after that. Also trying to short it out sortof with the screwdriver.

Re: Philips LCD 42" TV Help needed
Ok i'll look real quick also it appears as if one of my solder joints has come loose from the board. One leg of the cap seems to be loose from the hole that it goes through. I am trying to resolder it to the board but it doesnt seem to be working am i doing this wrong?? I'll let ya know about the codes...
Its not bad loose but barelyLast edited by hucklebuck73; 10-06-2012, 06:57 PM.
