Re: Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshootin
alright so I got me another main board and currently returning the first one i purchased. It turns out the first mainboard that i got had two end digits off even though it was advertised as the board that I needed with the correct pn.
Thats my fault so my lesson is learned: NEVER RELY on others to be accurate. Even if it looks identical and most of the numbers match up. Make sure that that it is the EXACT one that you need!
Once installed I got a picture, however...

Re: Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshootin
I will try to find out the panel model number tomorrow. I think I have to unscrew a couple of bolts to take off the boards and reveal it.
On a side note, I measured voltage going in from the power supply to the main board and there were two wires that were getting a lower amount of voltage (11.55v) rather than the 12v that it stated on the board, versus others wires that were getting a little more than the recommended voltage i.e. a 24v wire was getting 24.3v, which seems ok....

Re: Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshootin
can I just check the voltage on the cable wires going out from the mainboard into the tcon board?

I checked each end of the F1 green fuse on the T-Con board and its getting 5 volts on each end.

Re: Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshootin
Update:
I bought a replacement main board from online, however the problem was not fully resolved. The tv can now power on and off, however I am getting a grey screen upon powering on.
I am starting to wonder if there is a problem with the T Con board also.
What kind of voltage should the T Con board be getting?

Re: Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshootin
its a November 2007 model. It's NS-LCD32
There is no -09 or -07 after it. I've found the service manual for the 2009 model, but I can't find anything for this year.

Re: Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshootin
man these main boards are expensive...$80 to be exact. Any advice on how to further isolate the problem in the mainboard? (if it is feasible of course)

i'm not sure if all the lamps were lit though. Also i wasn't able to get into menu screen or change channels or change volume or power it off using the buttons on the side or the remote.
the two white fuses on the inverter board are good. both showing 00.5 ohm
I attached a clearer pic of the inverter board....Last edited by omegastrm; 12-13-2012, 04:39 PM.

Re: Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshootin
Thanks for the explanation.
follow up:
I cut into pin 13 PDIM 3.2v wire and soldered one end of the 1k resistor to it and then I cut the pin 12 wire. I wrapped the end coming from the power supply with electrical tape and took the other end of the wire feeding into the inverter board and soldered the other end of the resistor to it. The whole screen lights on with a greyish tint. I can't turn the tv off by pressing the power button or using the remote nor does pressing...Last edited by omegastrm; 12-13-2012, 03:48 PM.

Re: Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshootin
Budm can you explain the reason behind using a 1k resistor hook up between pin 12 in the inverter board and the 5V pin of the power supply board? Why can't I just use a regular wire and solder that from the pin 12 connection to a 5v pin from the power supply board?

Re: OVERCLOCK YOUR IPHONE 3G to run at 1GHZ!
battery life depends on usage. If you're constantly on the phone & using data or running apps then its all proportional. My phones battery lasts about an entire day.

Thanks for your response & help guys! I very much so appreciate your aid. I haven't been able to find the time to sit down and do some more troubleshooting of the tv, due to work and all, but I will probably have some time before this weekend to do so and give you guys a further update.

Re: OVERCLOCK YOUR IPHONE 3G to run at 1GHZ!
Also I believe that overclocking will result in even better performance for 3gs models, because they have more RAM than the original 3g, which allows for more storage & accessability of temp. data..
Even with my phone running at approx 1GHz, I still see lag due to the fact that there is not enough ram

Alright so in order to overclock your iphone, first you have to jailbreak it and install Cydia.
Then you will need SSH software to be able to get into your phone and edit a management file inside the OS of the phone, which is responsible for power consumption. ( I use FileZilla and enjoy it as...

I am not sure what you mean by panel model and by voltage regulators do you mean the output on the pins of the power supply?

OVERCLOCK YOUR IPHONE 3G to run at 1GHZ!
So i decided to overclock an iphone 3g that I own. I figured the worst that can happen is it catching fire.
The stock processors run at about 400Mhz and are under-clocked... why I don't know. Anyways I heard that the 3g processors are meant to run at 600Mhz with ease so I decided to overclocked mine to 999Mhz, and so far so good
Result:
I have a experienced a noticeable boost in performance and app load time, however battery life took a slight dip.
Anyways if anyone is interested you just have to SSH into your phone and change values in...

Re: Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshootin
I tried playing a dvd via standard a/v cables and got nothing, no sound (with headphones plugged in and without) or video.
When trying to shine a flashlight I do not get any image.
For the inverter board, I took the COM lead of my Multimeter to pin 8 GND and checked the rest of the pins (i am not sure if I did this correctly or not):
1 - vin - 23.7v
2 - vin - 23.7v
3 - vin - 23.7v
4 - vin - 23.7v
5 - vin - 23.7v...

Insignia NS-LCD32 powers on but blank screen & no sound, need help troubleshooting
Hi everyone, I took upon a project, which is a stubborn Insignia NS-LCD32 that needs some professional attention. The story behind it is that the tv went through a thunderstorm and when the last owner tried to turn it would only show a green power light and nothing else.
Anyways here's the detailed rundown:
Pressing the power button makes power light go green, however the screen is blank and there is no sound even when I connect an HDMI device. Also to power the tv off and make the green power light disappear I have to hold the power button for approx 5 seconds.
