I have two HP 840 G5 laptops. One of them is missing the BIOS chip. The second one was fully functional — it powered on and worked properly.
I desoldered the BIOS chip from the working laptop, dumped its contents (I'm attaching the original BIOS dump from the second laptop), and flashed a new chip for the first laptop using that same dump. After this, [B]neither of the laptops powers on anymore[/B].
Now, both laptops have the same issue:[LIST][*]When turned on, the [B]Caps Lock LED blinks 5 times[/B],[*]The [B]CPU fan spins at maximum...Leave a comment:
