Is this good as a compatible replacement?

OK is this chip dead? SPI pinout says pin #3 is write protect pin. I'm unable to read IC/not responding.

I managed to remove the chip but it looks like a pin is missing.

Ok I tested the clip on a Chromebox CN60 and was able to dump that bios. I will try to remove the chip.

Lenovo P17 Gen2 Type 20YU bios
Lenovo P17 Gen2
Type 20YU
Serial: PF3NSGCE
Will not post but shows blinking keyboard lights. Battery charges so maybe not power related but bios corrupted.
Can't read chip on motherboard using Pomona test clips and CH341A programmer, maybe need to remove?
JBIOS1 shows as Gigadevice 25R256DYIG which is not listed in Asprogrammer.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
I need to go to the store tomorrow to get a new AC fuse first.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
I'm not sure how I would test that? I tested the far left and right pins on the control board connector and got something like 12v. BTW if the big cap is only getting 150v does it mean it's bad or would I need to leave the power on for a couple minutes to let it "charge"....Last edited by DPyro; 10-27-2012, 09:11 PM.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
I tested it again immediately after turning the power off and the capacitor does indeed have 150v

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
I tried to jerry rig something up but wasn't able to light a bulb. I only had a 75watt (130v) flood light. I did check the capacitor afterword and got a reading of 100v so I'm guessing if I had left it plugged in it would have fully charged.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
It's a T3.15AH250V fuse which is totally blown. Would replacing it with a 3A250V be fine?Last edited by DPyro; 10-26-2012, 05:06 PM.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
You mean the long white fuse near the DC jack (bottom right in the picture)? I tested the continuity and I'm not getting anything.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
I'm not getting a reading on the big capacitor with just the mains hooked up to power (I disconnected the board from everything else).

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
I got my multimeter, now what?
EDIT: Here is a picture of the back after taking the power/mainboard panel off....Last edited by DPyro; 10-25-2012, 03:23 PM.

I ordered a multimeter online so I'll update this post when I receive it.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
Ya I read that in the other thread. That would be a pain in the ass to access.
EDIT: Could you clarify what you mean by 'panel board'? I know there is the main board with the vga and dvi interface and there's another long stripe board to control the osd. If its underneath all that it will be a pain to take apart.Last edited by DPyro; 09-16-2012, 09:25 PM.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
Is it possible this could be an even easier fix than I thought and just be a video cable that needs to be replaced from the main board? Obviously if the backlight lights up the inverter should be good, it's just not sending a video signal to the LCD?
EDIT: Found another thread with a similar problem.
I also think I found the service manual for the mainbo...Last edited by DPyro; 09-16-2012, 06:05 PM.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
Ok, I tried two old PCB's I made years ago. One is a roulette machine and the other is a circuit tester (red and green led to test + and -) both require a 9v battery. I connected them to the leads of the capacitor and neither had any charge. Tried the screwdriver to confirm the capacitor is fully discharged.
EDIT: Took the plastic off and I can't really tell if the capacitor is bulged....Last edited by DPyro; 09-16-2012, 01:39 PM.

Re: LG Flatron L2010P no picture
By shorting it with a screw driver does that not damage the board if it's still soldered to it?...
