Re: Dell 3007WFPT - Comes on - Blank screen - Backlights work - Help please
Hello Davi,
I would agree, but when connected to a PC, the monitor is detected and I can control the resolutions as would be normal, I just don't actually see anything on the screen besides the glow from the backlights.
The Tcon board, I referred to as the control board because on the Tcon it says control board, sorry for the confusion. To further clarify I am referring to the board that has the 4 ribbon cables going from it to the LCD panel itself.

Re: Dell 3007WFPT - Comes on - Blank screen - Backlights work - Help please
I wanted to add something, I was reading this thread here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31013&highlight=3007WFP
I noticed this guy had the same exact issue as me, all he did was replace all the capacitors on his power supply and repair the fuse on his Tcon board and his image came back.
I however have 2 good Tcon boards still, so I am wondering if there is something on the power supply yet?
I checked some Diodes on the bottom...

Pic of the input board (the only board that has not been repaired/replaced)
I didn't take pics of the inverter or Tcon because I know they aren't the issue since I have more than one on hand that I know are good boards.
Anyway:...

Re: Dell 3007WFPT - Comes on - Blank screen - Backlights work - Help please
Hello selldoor,
I did read through quite a bit of those threads but as you said, this issue wasn't in any of those threads.
The backlights stay on all the time until I power the monitor off. the power LED stays blue until I power it off.
And regarding the Tcon board, as I said I replaced that board with a known good Tcon board, no affect.
I did just notice that there is a 2nd cable coming from the video input board going to the Tcon board, so maybe...

Dell 3007WFPT - Comes on - Blank screen - Backlights work - Help please
Hello everyone,
I have a Dell 3007WFPT monitor here that has quite the perplexing issue for me. I'm usually pretty good with repairing Dell flat panels but this one is a beast all its own.
The issue is, when you power it up, it turns on fine, backlights come on, but the screen is black (glowing black from the backlights of course). There is NOTHING displaying, no red green blue black white, no OSD, nadda.
If I turn the monitor off, you can see it get dark, signifying the backlights are turning off as normal...
Basically, everything on...

Re: Sony PFM-42X1 42" Plasma Monitor - Menu comes up as white lines
Thanks for the reply Tom,
I did notice that there were several surface mount capacitors that are used throughout this monitor that are doming, they aren't flat on the top, and the Y SUS looks to have a set of 4 large capacitors doming as well.
Would replacing them have any effect?...

Re: Sony PFM-42X1 42" Plasma Monitor - Menu comes up as white lines
Hello again Tom,
The plasma does display the source, but it looks as bad as the menu. I took a photo to show what it looks like.
Also, I would like to add that the screen is pulsing bright dark bright dark etc... like a heart beat. Below is the photo of what it does.
Thanks...

Sony PFM-42X1 42" Plasma Monitor - Menu comes up as white lines
Hello everyone,
I have a Sony PFM-42X1 42" Plasma monitor that has an interesting issue. When you power it up it illuminates as normal, but when you select the menu, it shows up as white bars about 1/2 an inch wide and spaced apart about 3/8ths of an inch.
It displays like this from the left to about 2/3rds of the screen, the last 3rd on the right stays black.
What would be the cause of this? Any help appreciated. I have a working one of these monitors and it has a nice image. It would be great to get the 2nd one going.

Re: HITACHI 42HDS69 Plasma random Vertical lines in middle of screen
Well I thought you would all like to know, I went ahead and removed the input panel on the back of the TV, and saw the connections (think its called the Z buffer?) on the side of the panel that the issue was on (I marked the width of the bezel where the lines were so I could see the area while looking at the back of the TV)
The problem area was right where the connection to the buffer board went, I unplugged it, cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, and plugged it back in and its working perfectly,...

Re: HITACHI 42HDS69 Plasma random Vertical lines in middle of screen
I figured some pictures would better illustrate the issue. I took 2 photos. One shows the green lines, one shows when they get less noticeable/almost go away....Last edited by Jeremy112; 06-15-2013, 09:18 AM.

Re: HITACHI 42HDS69 Plasma random Vertical lines in middle of screen
Just wanted to add, I'm testing the TV out right now and I think its a heat related issue, when the TV is off and cools back down, it does not have the lines, after getting to a certain temperature it starts to display the lines.
I say this because its been about 40 minutes and the TV hasn't exhibited the line issue, but the TV isn't really warm yet either...

HITACHI 42HDS69 Plasma random Vertical lines in middle of screen
Hello everyone,
I have a Hitachi 42HDS69 plasma TV that works perfectly for about 15-20 minutes and then in the near middle of the screen, about 2 inches wide from top to bottom, there are vertical lines spaced about 1/8 of an inch apart, so about 30 or 40 lines that you see.
Now the odd thing is they are random in that they go away (mostly) and come back while viewing the source.
This does this whether a signal is input or not. What would be the cause?

LG 42PC3DC Turns on, then back off
Hello to all Badcaps! I've been roaming the forum unregistered form some time, and its helped to fix a few TVs indeed!
I have an older LG 42PC3DC 42" plasma, that turns on, then back off.
I KNOW its the power supply, since I took the good power supply from this TV, and put it in another LG plasma that I had.
I did that because THIS TV has one more problem, which at the moment I wont get into because I must first make this TV turn on and stay on before I can fix the other issue.
Anyway, what on the power supply board would be bad....
