Re: trouble IDing cap and best way to remove it?
Sorry was getting ahead of myself there. It sat for about a month in about 10 deg weather (in weather tight detached garage) and when I brought it in I let it sit for a day, and then hooked it up and it wouldn't power up at all. I checked for power on the brick and that seems ok. I do have a targus universal that I could test with but I'm not sure if it would be to much or not....

trouble IDing cap and best way to remove it?
hey all,
I have an LG LCD (flatron e2242t-bn) and here are some pics of the boards and the issues I've found http://imgur.com/a/3Wnly
The big cap
looks domed up a bit so I think that might be the main problem, but I'm not sure what the specs are for it, is it really a 100v? but I also noticed the mess in the first pic once
I flipped the board over and think I will have to clean that up also (maybe just solder wick it? to clean up the mess?) the flip side of that mess is in about this area.
Is that voltage regulator likely bad or...
