Re: Epson EH-TW2900 Projector Stuck in Standby
I'd think the fans probably aren't faulty, unless they are somehow not communicating their RPM to the computer. You can check them by hooking up a 12v source to them and seeing if they spin freely.
The usual sequence is, power button applied, pulsing blue power light, relay clicks, cinema filter cycles in between the endstops, the lamp lights, fans come on, and the epson logo shows.
I'm still thinking there is an auto iris or cinema filter error. The motor for the auto iris is a stepper motor, and the motor...

Re: Epson EH-TW2900 Projector Stuck in Standby
Try taking it apart and taking out the cinema filter, should be the first thing after the lamp in the light path. Take this out and inspect it. Make sure there are no broken teeth on the bottom. If there aren't any, put it back in its place. There should be two white plastic "endstops" that tell it how far to go. Sometimes this goes too far and gets stuck, so taking it apart and putting it back together can help. Most of the time it's this cinema filter that causes the problem. There could also be a broken gear on the inside...

Re: LG 42LB5D No video or backlight, sound functions
@budm The only thing i did to get the backlight up was unplug the connector from the TCON. There is no picture, just a black screen with a backlight. The menu does not show up when menu button pressed.
@aaronwt6 I checked the voltage on both side and it was 1.46 VDC on both sides.
Thanks gentleman!

Hitachi L40A105A Works for split second then goes to darkened blue static
Hi all, as the title states, I have a Hitachi L40A105A that i suspect the main board is bad on.
However, I am trying to avoid purchasing one if I can, as I have lots of experience soldering very small circuits.
Here are some pictures of the boards, and of what the panel looks like when it is on. The set comes on automatically when plugged in, and will not turn off when the button is pressed.
I do have a Fluke DMM to test with, but no scope unfortunately (saving up for one)
Thanks to this always great forum!...

LG 42LB5D No video or backlight, sound functions
Hi all!
As the title states, I have an LG 42LB5d that has sound, but no video or back light.
I have a workhorse Fluke multimeter to test with. I do not have access to a scope.
Here are some pictures of the boards, (all but the TCON, which is really tough to get to, but I can snap a pic of that if need be). I do have access to a macro lens if closer pictures are required.
Thanks in advance to this great forum!...

Re: Vizio GV42L help.
I know this is an old, dead thread!
However, I just wanted to say thank you! This thread fixed my TV.
I was having an amber light, with no power, no matter what buttons you pressed.
It turned out to be U7 as stated in the latest posts on this thread.
Thanks!
