Re: Motherboard issues, soft hissing/beeping capacitor when using cpu.
Okay i will do that when im going to try to fix the problem.
Btw the capacitors are smaller as i imagined, only 6mm diameter.
But i still haven't got a single tip where to buy quality capacitors to replace mine (if its not the psu). Thanks for help, im grateful but where to buy these capacitors is still a mystery to me....

Re: Motherboard issues, soft hissing/beeping capacitor when using cpu.
My system use to work fine for 2 years, good psu but maybe it is bad now? Is it easy to test a psu ?
As for the noise its 99% sure coming out of the caps, using tube to ear method to pinpoint location.
Yes ASUS midrange mobo
Which caps and where should i buy ? I don't care for money lost on the china ones.
Thanks, i...Last edited by Decapacitator; 02-01-2018, 09:47 AM.

Re: Motherboard issues, soft hissing/beeping capacitor when using cpu.
Good question, i dont know, i ordered some already. I think size isnt a problem, gonna attach them to old pins. Got lots of space and aint using the near pci slots.
I think they are 1cm in diameterRe: Motherboard issues, soft hissing/beeping capacitor when using cpu.

Motherboard issues, soft hissing/beeping capacitor when using cpu.
I got this motherboard that use to fine but it got problems now.
Computer crashes with vga cards, so im stuck with onboard vga.
I noticed hissing / high pitch noise coming out of 2 big capacitors next to the pci slots.
Noticeable when doing something cpu intensive, like downloading or loading something.
One looks slightly fatter but im not sure.
So my question is, could this be the problem for my videocards? To much strain on the 'sick' capacitor(s)?
And where can i find these?

Re: Packard Bell Viseo 200 WS
Well it was not really a credit card but a sort of (worthless) wall mart discount pass, i didn't know how to describe it so i just said credit card.
How many km did you walk? 50 ? You walked there as a soldier or just for the fun of it?
I'm now looking for a new monitor but i have no clue what to get, any recommendations? Blacks are important to me, also hate backlight leaking. Spending max 150 euro.

Re: Packard Bell Viseo 200 WS
I used a credit card to slide it open, the card will get damaged but the monitor stays pretty, started at the control buttons, there you can pull it back and then slide the card trough.
But...
One backlight looked washed up, was also broken during dismantling, there was some black discoloration at the place where it flickered, this means the end, even when i could put it back together with a good backlight it would almost be impossible to get it running again without dust in the screen, farewell my friend....

Re: Packard Bell Viseo 200 WS
There is a K in the lock so i guess it is a Kensington Lock but its just a hole, dont know how that works.
So i dont have to do anything with that hole?
Okay, i got it open finally thanks for help so far.
Capacitors look fine on the power-board.
Will take a look at the backlicht connections....Last edited by Decapacitator; 08-30-2012, 06:16 AM.

Re: Packard Bell Viseo 200 WS
Hi Bill could you send me the manual, that would be great, i can't PM at the moment since I'm brand new on the forums i guess.
One 'CCFL' is flickering and something is making hissing sound, i hope it's fixable because i love that monitor.
What do you with the hole with lock pictured above it ? What move must i make to unlock it? (on the back lower left)...Last edited by Decapacitator; 08-30-2012, 04:33 AM.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello all,
Just wanted to say hi, i'm currently trying to fix a monitor that's why i ended up here.
I'm a little technical but nothing serious, replacing a cap is doable for me.
Well i hope u enjoy my stay and vice versa.
Regards,
Robert
