So we did some testing of the main power supply board and the only power the meter detects is 5v on the connector on the left hand side of the board down near the smaller heatsink just above the 2 relays.
How do i test the main capacitor? and is it the really big one in the middle of the board?

I have uploaded the 2 power supply boards, the main pcb. The other little one has a metal cover over it, the only reason I have taken it off is because when I apply power to the tv it makes a high pitch noise....Leave a comment:

Hi,
Yesterday my Toshiba 46XV500A TV was working when all of a sudden the picture went blank. I tried to turn the tv off using the remote and it didnt respond to the remote. So I tried the buttons on the side, Power button wouldnt work, nor did the input or menu button. So I turned the tv off at the wall, left it off for a minute then turned it back on, Red light came on, press the power button on the tv and the green light lit up and the back light but there was no picture and once again it didnt respond to button presses from the side panel or remote. The model of the tv is a Vivo LTV40FHD.
On the board it has LKP-PI1005, but it did have a sticker over it with LK-PI400106E.
The 39 is smaller then the rest of them. The 27J is the worst of all three, it is quite brown but it isnt cracked....Last edited by breast69au; 08-28-2012, 06:06 AM.Leave a comment:

Hi,
My Tv the backlight has gone out. Can see the image in the back but there is no backlight. When the Tv is turned out the light stays on for a 1second then turns off. So I took the back off the Tv and the first thing that jumps out is there is three blue capacitors that have gone brown. I have unsoldered them to identify the caps.
This is what is on them
