Re: Gateway FPD1976w 2 second blackout
Can not find these MOSFETs. Bought some out of China and found that they were bogus knock offs
Still have a bad monitor. Started by changing the caps, replaced the high voltage transformers and replaced the CCFLs. these MOSFETs are the last thing I can deal with if I can get them. ...
Thank you to the guys at HEGE supporting Badcaps [ HEGE ] [ HEGE DEX Chart ]

Re: Gateway FPD1976w 2 second blackout
As you suggested, I have substituted both cclfs with no change in status.
The board lights up the ccfls for about 2 seconds and blinks off with a blue "start" light then tries again for 1-2 seconds and shuts down with an amber "start" light.
Does anyone have a schematic for this board? Where can I get one?...

Gateway FPD1976w 2 second blackout
After following the great post ( A guide on how to troubleshoot 2 seconds to black) my monitor still will not stay lit.
I have replaced the caps with (Gateway FPG1975W repair kit ILPI-021kit) from ccl-la.com with no positive results.
I tested the high voltage transformers and found them @ 639 and 640 OHMS, within the 3% tolerance.
I used a known good CCFL to substitute one at a time with no change. The monitor will not stay lit. I however can see the text on the screen using a flashlight after blackout.
What does this power transistor...

Gateway FPD1976w 2 second blackout
I have been following the OPs re: this problem and have replaced the caps with (LCD repair kit for Gateway FPD1976w from CCL-La) even thou they did not look bad with no improvement. I checked the primaries of the high voltage transformers and found them to be @640ohms each and have not changed them. I then used a known good CCFL to replace the top CCFL no change and then the bottom CCFL of the monitor with no change in status.
What else could be causing this monitor to start up and go dark? I can see the text on the screen after blackout using a flashlight. It definitely seems like...

Tektronix 422 losing intensity
My Type 422 Tektronix scope intensity knob needs to be near or at max clockwise to be able to have a trace.
Any suggestions on re-establishing full range intensity?
Do I need a new CRT?...

Re: Harman Kardon locked in Tape1/Copy and Tape2 mode
Could it be Q809 holding both Q801 and Q802 on?
Or is IC 802 bad?
With all the "logic" going on I do not know how to isolate, should I just start to replace until see progress?...Last edited by samcan; 08-25-2012, 04:45 AM.

Harman Kardon locked in Tape1/Copy and Tape2 mode
My Harman Kardon 3400 decided to lock into:
"Tape1/Copy" and "Tape2" mode.
I hadn't started to trouble shoot, when I found this site and could use some direction.
First I am trying to get the photos taken and attached properly.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated....Last edited by samcan; 08-24-2012, 06:52 PM.

Delighted to have found this site while trying to repair my daughters Gateway monitor. It has the dreaded black screen.
I hope to learn and possible repair a few things.
