  • Thanks for your reply and warning @mcpisig123, my plan was to replace both the mosfets and inductor around the melted parts. What makes you point me to the circuit around the R47 inductor? On the block diagram it suggests it is aimed at powering the power regulator NCP81298 which is located near to the battery connector (other side of PCB). Do you advise to also replace the mosfets around the R47 coil? When I'm right the melted part is a mosfet MDV1595SURH (the high side), the other, at the low side is a EMB20N03V. The same mosfets are also connected to the R47. Do you also suggest to also replace...

  • Search for HP probook 470 G4 motherboard image

I have laptop which recently started giving problems. It could not be powered on battery anymore (although I think the battery is not completely discharged) and also powering with the charging device (gives 19.5v) does not work. After a while some smelly smoke came out of the board. I've openend the laptop and it appeared that especially one component had stains of overheating. As it is impossible to read the text on the component (I guess it's a mosfet) I'd like to know if there is someone who has a detailed image of this board or could advise which component it is and has the specs of the component....

  • Hi all, having limited experience with electronics, I still managed to do some pcb designing, especially in making my mini (3D printed) drones work. I'm a big fan of repair rather than replacement of entire devices.
