While I finish reading the whole thread, I'll tell my experience in case it helps.

I want to remove admin bios password from a HP Zbook G3 and a HP Zbook G6.

-I bought a cheap eprom reader/writer and a sop8 clip
-downloaded software, installed drivers, etc in windows 11
-tried 1st with an old Dell desktop, located the bios chip, placed the clip, did several reads, verify, compare CRCs. Worked fine

Now let's try the real thing, the G3 bios is suitable for the clip, however the G6's is too shallow and bigger and would need a wson8...
