Need help to indentify this cap

Hello everybody,

I have this cap broken when the the mother board fell out of the table.

I don't know what cap it is , how much volt or µ so i can find a replacement ?

Here is the photo taken of this cap on other mother board.

Can you tell me what it is like cap ?

wao, so today, i have my friend came in with his monitor, this is one 2232BW, what a beautiful out of mode LCD. And his monitor has a problem of turning off automatically in every 30minutes. ok, so i first thought that it can because of extra heat, but nope, there are plenty of bad boys inside

well, i think the system in photos can work correctly, but the guy needs to care of extra heat. the electric skillets can work good as pre-warm the mother broad - that i did for several recent years . and the price, i think it inclused the knowledge of the guy, he fixed the heat gun in the right place

ok, it is true that it can't be compared with some pro bga solder, but you know the chinessesssss

hi everybody,

i think that everything is fine now, i did these steps before mesuring caps and the meter can finally tell me wich cap is good or bad.

Severach, i definitely agree with you, cheap cap can't be trusted. ok the green cap Ltec is a band new cap (i have got about 200pieces of these), but i have tested also with some others brand like Nichicon.

and with the MESR-100, these probe holes are ok, but i also have to use a tweezer in order to zeroing the meter before using....

yep, i confirm, the PSU works perfectly, i have checked all caps inside PSU, they all work great

it seems like heating killed those caps on the broad. chipset ATI on north bridge is often so hot.

humh, ok, so after you, there will be steps which i have to follow :

1. with the probes already put in the meter, i connect them together and switch on the meter.
2. alway with the two probes connect together, i press zero to zeroing the meter.
3. after zeroing, i pull out the two probes and begin to test the cap.

haha, i did the 3 steps above and after pulling out the two probes my meter says overflow.

ok, nice, but i think that i have done it already, because the MESR-100 has its own bouton Zero to zeroing, so before testing each cap, i did zero it down.

hi tom66, what did you mean use a shorting link for zeroing ?
uhm, sure, i did zero the device, and have shorted caps with screw device already.

Hi everybody,

Recently, i have bought one ESR meter (MESR-100) from the ebay .

But since my first try with one bad and good cap, the MESR-100 shows not so much difference betwen the good and the bad one. so i wish if there is someone can tell me if i did something wrong or the esr meter MESR is a brik can't be trusted ?

uhm, yep, it is proably 14.31818 mhz, i think i have messed up a litle bit, thank you guys for corrections.

ok then, i will try with a short wave radio which can be used in a single side mode, the one that i belive can be found in my closet
but there is no kind of mutilmeter or multitester can check this xtals...

newbie needs help with crystal oscillator broken

Hi everybody,

Since i'm still a newbie in electronics and in our forum, i beg you pardon if i post a dummy question.

recently, i have broken one crystal oscillator on one toshiba mainbroad : the 14.3hz but when i have soldered it physically, i can't get my mainbroad work again.

So i ask you guys if there is any way i can test this thing to know if it still works or not ?

hi everybody, i have one "HOT AIR REWORK SOLDERING IRON STATION 852D+" too and i have used it for more than 1 year up to now. i'm very happy with it.

in working lab, i have my OKI hot air rework

but i prefer the 852D+ for easy control and less expensive ...
