    thanks for your reply, yes I made sure I got the polarity correct, I double checked just to make sure.

    I have managed to resolve the issue, I used my multimeter probe and a toothbrush to scrape away all the flux around the solder joints.

    I tried it again and it's all good
    4.93 volts on the 5 volt line

  • failed recap - antec true 380

    Hi,

    hoping someone can help me.
    I had a faulty antec true 380 psu.
    5 volt output was down to 4.5 volts.
    I opened it up and found bulging caps 4700uf f*yous.
    I sourced and fitted replacement caps, also replacing the 3300uf and 1000uf ones just to be sure.

    I now cant get it to power on at all.
    about 5 seconds after removing power it has a high pitched whistle.
    I have had a close look at the board and all the solder joints look ok, and all the components likewise.

    does anyone here have any ideas as to where to...
