• Re: FSP Group ATX-400PNF

PSU voltages were too high with load. Some OVP kicked in and that's why PC didn't turn on. After adjusting first without load and after that with running PC everything seems ok. But still it is not clear why this happened.

• FSP Group ATX-400PNF

Hello, everyone.

Yesterday I took out USB flash drive from back of PC and computer turned off. Didn't think much about that and wen to bed.
At the morning PC didn't turn on. I opened PSU, checked fuse, it was okay.
Then disconnected PSU from PC components and turned it on. Voltage on 12V rail was in ~12,7-13,1V range. Obviously too high.
Then I spotted tiny potentiometer on one of PCBs and thought - what the heck, let's try to turn it and see what happens. That turned out to be voltage adjustment for 12V rail and probably other riles too. I adjusted 12V rail voltage...

Thanks for the input. At least there are no apparent red flags. I ordered rev 4

• Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT motherboard revisions

I'm building small PC for media and internet use and my MB choice is GA-78LMT-S2PT. There are two revisions available of this board - 3.1 and 4.0, for virtually same price. It appears that features are the same. They differ by slightly different port placement (does not concern me this time) and by different choice of components. Looks like one will feature different VRMs. I'm mostly interested in long term reliability of this MB in normal working conditions. No OC is planned.

Is it possible for...

Hello. How Samxon GF series caps compare to CapXon KF caps reliability wise?

Found 3 bulged CapXons in Samsung 205BW monitors power/inverter board. It is relatively easy for me to get Samxon GF caps from one local supplier. Is it worth to recap monitor with Samxon GF?

• Re: Power supply build quality pictorial. part 2

Power output does not concern me much. That PC does not have dedicated video card. All I'm concerned is power noise (no way to measure that) and what this PSU will do to other components if it fails.

I'm concidering preventive recap. Couple of questions. Cap on primary has quite small capacity. No problem if I put there 330uF or 470uF? Or there is no need for that. Then caps on secondary are with different capacitance (470uF-2200uF). Is it acceptable to replace all those just with one value caps? Let's say 2200uF/10 or...

Brand new Fortron/Source FSP350-50GMN. I bought this to replace PSU in old P4 system. I didn't find any info on web about this particular model before purchasing. As I and couple my friends previously got good experience with FSP PSUs, I went for ir. There were no sticker on the case so I opened it and looked inside. To my surprise this units buid quality apared much cheaper than for example PNF series Fortrons.
One 150uF/400V 85C CapXon cap on primary.
In the middle 1 Taepo, 1 OST and 1 CapXon brand cap.

Hello everyone.

I have 2 of these ATX-400PNF power supplies. One is in my computer system and another I got from my friend some time ago when it started to behave strangely. Situation with 2nd one is like trez0r explained in post #56.

Anyway, when I did major PC cleaning recently I also opened PSU to clean all the dust. I noticed that 3300uF Jamicon cap (#3, picture No. 12) is bulbed so I'm thinking about replacing it. PC is working fine, no strange behavior or noises from PSU.

My question is like this: If I replace...
