Re: Scanning BIOS Image in hard drive, Bios auto recovering.....
Th3_uN1Qu3, Since his BIOS is corrupt, U wont see the floppy, HDD etc unless it POSTs 1st.
Did you read the link i posted above PrPrO? as far as I can see its helped some but not others with similar issue.
Although I would not want to give up on this either, it does not look promising m8y....
Re: Scanning BIOS Image in hard drive, Bios auto recovering.....
Some Info here I believe : https://yorickdowne.wordpress.com/2009/02/11/recovering-from-bios-failure-on-gigabyte-ga-ep45-ud3p/
I was gonna suggest change your battery, not sure if 'reseted the battery' actually meant reseated the battery or whether you meant you've changed the battery.
Another thing you could do is disconnect your HDD, try to POST and if at all possible at this stage re-flash your BIOS with the latest mobo update.
Hi ben7, Tapping, pulling from bottom into tilt-up and even squeezing the width of the screen, right on the DELL logo (mid-bottom) brings it back sometimes after I turn it back on.
Sometimes I see the off-white/flicker and simply pull the bottom into tilt, timing this right and moving quickly gets the picture back on.
Once the screen is on vibrations(movement of the desk its on) can knock it back to blank but once the screen has warmed up, I have no issues all day,
Re: Acer AL2416W Works, then fades to white then black...
OK I managed this and remounted on the wall....... IT WORKS !!
I'd like to thank you guys in this forum for your help, the youtube video link here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=RhqF64FlNdo
was exactly the same problem i had, seemed to get worse the more it warmed up.
I've photo's similar to Mechageo's on my moby, i will post asap, they may help someone.
THANKS Mechageo for your cry for help and thanks ALL in this forum...
Hi Selldoor, I did actually use search but I never saw this thread, strange. Anyway, thanks for this link.
I did wonder about the capacitors and I did think the same lol, its an option I guess. I'm pretty sure I could get new ones, which would be easier anyway
Just knowing what to look for now.. When I have the back off I will be back for sure. With such a big expensive screen I think i'll be waiting further before I jump in.
I have a 2nd screen, i've posted about today which I use...
Re: Acer AL2416W Works, then fades to white then black...
Quick update while i re-assemble...
With just the cover and the internal metal cover off, i disconnected what plugs inside i could, cleaned, wiggled and re-connected, powered up and no change.
Then i took the plastic frame off the front, i could access another ribbon inside (connected to the screen?) I disconnected this, cleaned it, re-applied extra duct tape and powered up, this time I saw no issues. I also put some tape to give extra hold to the ribbon connecting the VGA circuit board, this...
Excellent, thanks a lot Tom66, how'd I give you +rep ?
So all is not lost, occasionally it does take a while to come around but i've not noticed a difference in the time it takes, tilting/pulling or tapping the bottom of the panel pretty much center where the DELL logo is, seems to help bring it back.
Is there a disassembly manual or walkthrough somewhere? I'm so heavy handed with this sort of thing, I tend to break clips and stuff which hold things together. I will certainly have a go at it, i have some soldering...
I have this Dell 30" screen and it seems until it warms up I get a blank screen, which flickers at first from time to time.
I turn it off and back on again which sometimes resolves the problem, advancing from this, I tilt the screen by pulling from the base upwards and this also sometimes solves the problem. I don't get this problem after prolonged use and my feeling is there is/are faulty component(s) which work better when warm?
I can tell when the screen is about to go blank as the white goes an off-white and then instantly blank....

Hi, my first post.
re: Acer AL2416W
I'd like to ask what would be the best way to remedy this issue? I also have this problem on this screen. One would presume; take the back off and unplug all connectors, clean with alcohol and replace?
