Selldoor, I have posted the photos, and have a multimeter and soldering iron. once the screen goes black the light changes color but stays on.

Alexanna, I will check the regulator this evening and report back on my finding.

Hello My name is Mark. I am the owner of a FPD2485W or Gateway LP2407 from back in 2008. Over the last few years it has had a vertical constant colored line that was distracting but essentially the monitor still worked. However recently this has changed to after a few mins the monitor now flickers then shuts off. I have never posted on these sites and I am somewhat knowledgeable about electronics so I took the unit apart and found no evidence of bulging caps.
