After HP was so kind to brick BIOS in the Elitebook/ZBook G5 series with a bad BIOS update, we were only left with one option, and that is to program the EEPROM manually.
If no SOIC adapter is available, this method can be used, without even having to remove the EEPROM. Just remember to disconnect the laptop battery.
Read the old EEPROM, replace the upper 16 MB with the newest image from HP, and reprogram the EEPROM.
