Today the transistors failed again, monitor is having the same symptoms.
I just bought 4 from this ebay for $7 bucks.
If it fails again I will just order the whole board for 40 bucks. It should fix the problem.
I will post more info when the components arrive.
Thanks

Also about the RadioShack components, yes, they are bigger and I had to do a little...

I just got some TIP3055 (MJE3055T) over radioshack and the monitor is working with no problems, I don't know yet on the long term but right now it's okay.
Yes I did had to cut the metal to accommodate the huge tranny.
Wish you guys good luck and merry Christmas.

Dear All,

First thank you all for the posts, that helped me alot with the troubleshooting this monitor.

I've a question:

What would be a great spare for the 2C5707 since it's failing:
The MJE3055T (TRANSISTOR NPN 60V 10A TO-220 )
or
the MJE13007G (TRANS PWR NPN 8A 400V TO220AB)

Both available at digikey at 0.99 and 0.90 .

Also heard that the guy selling on e-bay also sends a solution for the caps to not burn again. Is that a true...
