I haven't yet opened the monitor up. And I don't have a multimeter as well.

I will put up the pictures tomorrow as its too late in the night here but what is the probability of this being a lcd panel/pixel malfunction?

I've a some weird problem with my 4 1/2 year old Samsung SyncMaster 740 N. Its a 17" LCD screen and its acting strange. The screen was flickering a lot along with it half or sometimes even the whole screen is going black. There is no fixed line delineating it from the working regions.

Now the screen does not work at all while just starting with a glow in the middle against a dark background and slowly growing in size.. I have put a video on [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac17KG-16ZY"]youtube [/URL]if someone is interested. Not sure how to describe this problem.....
