I had the exact same problem with my F.S. B17-1 Monitor and after following [Leopard]'s solution, it now works Perfectly
My screen kept turning off and on, and after inspecting the the power board ([dvorav]'s second image), I found two damaged capacitors near the heat sink (they were bulged).
I chose to replace all 4 capacitors with ones I bought from Maplin (bought the Jamicon variety), though I could
only find ones with a 25V working voltage, like [G.F].
