Thanks, for all your help. Having a sniff, it smells like it's been running hot.

Re: Samsung SyncMaster T240 2-second backlight problem
That is the test that I performed. Now that I've taken the part off the circuit board the primary coil reads .3 ohms as per the link on lcdparts.net.
The secondary coils don't register on my DVM on the 200Ohm scale, but read 1046 and 957 when I put it on continuity test??? (BTW just to check a 70 Ohm set of headphones read 74 on the continuity test, so I think the output is Ohms).
Do you reckon this is too out of spec.?

Re: Samsung SyncMaster T240 2-second backlight problem
Thanks for the quick reply, I'll have a go at sourcing from the ebay seller mentioned above.
My transformer is the TM-10160 and seems to work on one side but I can't get any Ohm reading off either coil pair. The tubes light up if connected to the top connection, but then go out quite quickly....

Re: Samsung SyncMaster T240 2-second backlight problem
Does anyone know of an equivalent replacement part, maybe two transformers that could replace this double. I've seen a few videos on YouTube that show single transformers that look similar to one of these TM-10160 chopped in half.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOUvLNChGXM this video shows a similar powerboard with two separate transformers.
Anyone know the primary to secondary winding ratio or voltage rating.Re: Samsung SyncMaster T240 2-second... problem<br />...
