I'm ready to conclude that I have a bad panel (screen)
Problem started when customer saw a couple of horizontal lines showed up in the image than TV is out.
When try to turn TV ON; red led power blink, sound only.
Disconnecting power line to motherboard. LED's comes on (of course LED's working on the fly, no motherboard control). so, they are ON, full power.
Connecting back power to motherboard. Disconnecting either of the ribbon cables to LCD = LED's all respond...

Problem solved.
Both TV's needed software update. done.

UN55F6300 and UN55F6800
Senior TV Tech here.
I been seeing more and more of this UN55F6300 and 6800 models come in for repair for picture / power randomly cutting off.
I have not seen this problem happen in front of me at my shop. The two TV's that come in been perfectly running fine for past couple of hours.
The 6800 owner which I only took apart and reseated cables and contacts, took it home and he said again it started to cut off then immediately come back on cycling as soon as he took it home. Brought it back to me and like said still working...Last edited by kudalski; 10-26-2017, 01:08 PM. -

I'd say you'd have to be a bit advanced to do this. I been fixing TV's and computers since 1993.
You got to be very careful you can easily crack the screen taking it a part.
Once the screen is off you can turn the TV on and quickly look see which of the LED's is out. See the strip part # look and order it eBay or shopjimmy.
If you want to get more technical then replace the actual defective LED. Clip the LED lens of it, replacing actual LED requires some carful soldering...Leave a comment:

Problem solved.
Weak or going out one of the LED Strips. Changed (replaced one surface mount LED on one of the strips). Set is perfectly fine now.Leave a comment:

Problem is not coming from either of the boards. Main board tested in another TV and it works perfect. power supply board replaced twice...same problem existed unless both power supply board that I got from eBay have this problem. I doubt it.
I took the screen apart and all light work and look healthy for the 10 seconds they come on.
Tried disconnecting one of the LED strips to act an open LED the set only gave me about 3 seconds of LED illumination the cut off. That tells me LED current flow sensing circuit...Leave a comment:

Same here. Ordered and got both power supply and mother board from eBay. Still same problem about 10 seconds and back lights cut off. but image still there.
All lights come on and all look healthy. took the screen apart and confirmed that.
Just to confirm none of the strips is bad.. opened one of the strips circuits; LED back lights all cut off in about 3 seconds in other words problem is not coming from back lights.
Problem has something to do with power supply assembly which contains...Leave a comment:

Toshiba 50L1400U Back light cycling On and Off
Back light on this TV model cycles ON and OFF about 2 second intervals only when signal is connected and I got picture (As back light goes bright).
But when TV is idle with no signal (Back light dim) back light stays ON steady and does not turn ON and OFF (cycling)
When signal applied, back lights brightens up and it begins to cycle on and off. Pls help. thank you -

Thank you for the test procedure. My set only glows and nothing but all seem to be ok.. voltages etc..

I'm having the same problem with this same model TV. TV behaves as its working but no image at all.
All voltages are correct.
Main and controller boards worming up as to normal.
Y and X sustains stay cold. but correct voltages going in and out.
any idea..? thank you
