I found some tutorials on the internet, but I couldn't unlock it, via MS-DOS, Windows, or boot via file.

Re-blocking the MPM seems to be much easier (using BiosConfigUtility64.exe).

I would just like to supplement information based on an electronic diagram. I also had this symptom of flashing 9x, due to charger plug problem.

I found it interesting how HP controls the charger type, much simpler and more effective than Dell.

I didn't see the schematic for the Elitebook 8440p, but the HP Probook 440 G5 has an interesting schematic, maybe they are similar. And it does have limiters (transistors PQ3 and PQ5, limiting the maximum to 3.7V, even though there is 19V on the charger ID pin).
