Re: Dell 3007wfp No Image
Apologies for the late reply. The fuse I was talking about was a 20mm cylindrical fuse near the mains socket on the power board....

Re: Dell 3007wfp faulty power supply?
There is a fuse on the power board - Mine was buried under a huge glob of hot glue, so look around. Run a continuity test on it, and replace it if needs be. That's all that was wrong with mine, and it's been fine for the last 18 months.
eidt - I can see it right next to your mains input, in that pic.Last edited by Gingerbeer; 08-24-2013, 03:58 AM.

Re: Dell 3007wfp No Image
Is it a 20mm fuse with solder tails?
I just removed it, and soldered in a fuse holder and clipped in a 3.15A 20mm fuse - both from Maplin. Cost me a massive 82 pence.
My monitor is the 3007WFP-HC though, so I couldn't say whether it's vastly different inside.Last edited by Gingerbeer; 08-24-2013, 03:53 AM.

Something overheating, or maybe a dry joint?

Re: Samsung cable replacement
My replacement power board has just arrived, and the 820u caps on it are labelled "VOE", with a small brand logo that looks like it says "samwha", and a smaller cap is branded "Sam Young". I'll try and photograph them when I get home - my iphone is terrible for macro shots (unsurprisingly).
Never heard of those before, but I think I have a bunch of Rubycon caps in the spares cupboard. Is it worthwhile replacing them?

Re: Samsung cable replacement
Sorry about the delay...
This is the one - the connector on the right side, keeps falling to bits. I can't test it until my replacement power board arrives next week (the original board is completely banjaxed), but I don't trust it at all.
The ribbon measures 30mm wide and is approx 175mm long.
Scenic, the other side of the left end looks identical to your first pic.

Samsung cable replacement
Lo all,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction...
I'm looking for a replacement cable from a Samsung SM 226BW - it's the ribbon that connects the logic board to the panel. The connector that plugs into the panel came apart. I might be able to fix it, but I wouldn't mind knowing if there's anywhere that sells them.
I'm assuming they aren't proprietary components, having seen similarly styled ones in other monitors.
I appreciate any help or advice you can give me.
Regards

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 920WM, part identification.
I don't know if this of any help, but I had a Syncmaster 932 exhibiting identical symptoms, to those mentioned in the OP.
I only had to replace the inverter transformer on the power board, and it's been working flawlessly for about 6 months.
