I haven't had to pay the tech anything. I believe he was contracted by Toshiba as a local repair tech. Which also had me thinking that he could just say "Oh the panel is dead" to Tosh, put one on order, and strip my TV for parts or only replace what was needed, keeping the rest. But I wont speculate on that kind of business practice as I am not educated in the field. It just strikes me as very odd, especially after browsing these forums, that with the limited description I gave him on the phone, he could make a diagnosis so quickly...

Hello, new to the forums and I am finding them very informational.

I realize I should have pictures and all required materials before posting, however to even get my hands on the TV again would require significant effort, and I would very much appreciate some educated responses so I can determine the feasibility of the fix, and whether or not it is worth the effort.
