Re: Please Help! Component ID needed
Thanks again for all your help, the new inductor is in and the USM motor is working amazingly well! The inductor I bought was a little too tall so the board doesn’t sit flat but I can’t see that affecting its functionality.

Re: Please Help! Component ID needed
I’ve found this which appears to be the right radius, height and lead spacing. I’m not sure if it’ll be suitable though, could anyone confirm?
Thanks

Re: Please Help! Component ID needed
Thanks! How would I go about testing the values?
I’ve tested the good inductor and it’s reading 8ohm, any ideas on how I can find a similar inductor that would work? What other readings do I need to take to ensure I get the right one?
Thanks again for your help,

Canon 16-35mm F/2.8 L lens - Component ID needed
Hi,
I'm in the process of repairing a Canon 16-35mm F/2.8 L lens, I've noticed a component on the PCB that seems to be broken and loose. The legs are still soldered securely to the board but there's side to side play from inside.
Can anyone tell me what it is please, it stated 152 5mc on top but I can't find anything corresponding to that online.
Many thanks
Dave...

Re: Wharfdale 37LCD1080P faulty
Bad news! I've opened up the tv again and had a look at the connections to the tcon, I've torn one of the ribbon cables from the screen to the tcon, it looks like 3 traces are affected. Anything I can do, or is it destined for the skip now?

Re: Wharfdale 37LCD1080P faulty
Well, I put the TV back together and the problem of nothing on the screen and unable to change sources/menu etc still persists.
I'm not sure what's happened now, I seem to have made it worse. It does have some grey/black banding on the right of the panel with a black background. Any ideas?

Re: Wharfdale 37LCD1080P faulty
Thanks again for your help Tom, I'll get the TV put back together shortly and try the service menu in the morning.
I see in your signature that you've repaired quite a lot of TVs, have you ever come across anything similar to what I'm dealing with?
Cheers
Dave

Re: Wharfdale 37LCD1080P faulty
Thanks for the reply Tom!
Wow, I didn't realise it could be something as simple as that! I don't actually have the remote for it, but I do have a harmony remote, could that work to access the service menu?
Could it be a coincidence that the tv had bulging caps and this issue or would it be related somehow?
Thanks again
Dave...

Re: Wharfdale 37LCD1080P faulty
Umm........no!
I shall do that later and see if I'm back to where I was. Any ideas on if the IC on the tcon is at fault?...Last edited by Davelee1097; 10-30-2013, 03:28 AM.

Re: Wharfdale 37LCD1080P faulty
I forgot to add, the IC in question is an AS15-F, I will post some close up pictures of the various boards when I'm back at the workshop later.Last edited by Davelee1097; 10-30-2013, 02:53 AM.

Wharfdale 37LCD1080P faulty
Hello everybody!
I'm wondering if I could have some assistance please?
I have acquired a faulty wharfdale LCD TV that wouldn't turn on from standby, I have replaced all the capacitors on the psu and it now turns on, it still doesn't work however. The colours are very distorted and doesn't display an image correctly.
Here is the video:

From what I've read, I think it could be a problem with an IC on the TCon, could that be correct?
I have stripped it down and removed the TCon board, part number...

Re: Recapping a TV
Hi, thanks for the reply.
The model number is: LCD37F1080P
I replaced a 100uf 50v cap for a 100uf 100v one, I'll upload a picture later as I'm in work now on my phone.

Recapping a TV
Hi, I'm new to the forum so please be gentle.
I acquired a 37" Wharfedale LCD Tv a couple of days ago that had no power at all. After opening the TV I noticed a bulging cap on the PSU. I replaced the cap and the tv now powers on but after a few seconds the picture starts bleeding and turning funny colours. Do you think it's a capacitor issue? Would it be worth replacing all the caps on the power supply?
Thanks for reading.
