I switched to Neoprogrammer. Now I can consistently read the BIOS image that I write. In other words, the md5 checksum of the image I write to the IC matches the md5 checksum of what I read back from the IC. This is progress as I couldn't do this previously. I wrote my original BIOS and the BIOS that hoaca338 provided. I removed the battery, external power, and CMOS battery for 30 seconds. In attempting to bypass the BIOS password, I misinterpreted the instructions as referring to CPU gen instead of Thinkpad gen. As a result of my error, I followed the DXE password bypass driver injection instructions and flashed a new BIOS created by the Lenovo Autopatcher python script.
