If your laptop is AMD based, there's a huge chance the GPU (Graphics) is going out,this is one of many issues of result of failure GPU, non-functional WiFi, sound...and finally it goes a time you the screen stay black when you try to power on your lappy, google HP laptop failure GPU WIFiLeave a comment:

It could still be the Video card, i notice this Model has ATI Graphics, ATI or nVidia are do tend to overheat. If you're not still able to get either to work on internal LCD it could be the reflow hasn't been successful, on the other hand try Paul678's suggestion first to narrow down the causeLeave a comment:
