According to an ebay auction, this is the backside of the motherboard:

But I could detect any Bios/EC Chip... Does anybody where the chip is located?

  • Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Hans, and I am a new member from Germany. I have some experience in hardware tinkering, mainly clearing CMOS by shortening pins and reflashing BIOS versions. However, I am currently facing a challenge that I am not sure how to approach.

I have an HP 845 G8 laptop, and I need to reset the supervisor password. Unfortunately, I do not have much experience with this specific issue. I have tried looking for solutions online but have not found anything that I am confident in attempting without some advice from more...

    Hello,

I also have a Elitebook 845 G8 AMD and a few questions about dumping the bios/ec chip.

Is the EC chip on the backside (keyboard side)? I only could recognize a Winbond 25Q256JVEN behind the cover.

I tried to dump the IC data from the chip, but the Neo Programmer 2.2.0.01 only have a 25Q256JV chip selectable is that bad?

And my third problem is, that the IC not responds (I think there is not a contact between the flashing clamp of the CH341a). Is there any cheap programmar or clamp or should I try to desolder the chip?

    Thank...
