Re: Display problem with Sharp lc-70c6500u
Thank you, I've read the whole thread a couple of times, trying to make sure I get the procedure right, and found myself immersed, reading like it was a thriller, specially at the point where you removed the bezel...
It even made my blood pressure go up a bit, haha
Hopefully I got the idea right....

Display problem with Sharp lc-70c6500u
Hi, I was given a 70" Sharp tv, that shows some lines on the lower right side, and some on both top corners, although on the left hand side is hard to notice, because it comes and goes...
All of them are line flickering, not static...
I took some pictures, because I don't know exactly how to describe the problem.
Thank you in advance for your comments or ideas....

Re: 60" LG Plasma 60PA5500 (Sound but no Image)
Thank you VERY MUCH, Tom, I finally got the upper Y buffer, and the TV works perfect, I do have a couple of questions, why did you suspect of the buffer board?
and in case the upper board had been working, the next step would have been reconnect the upper board, and disconnect the lower board to test?
Finally, I think it would be a good idea to add those steps in your troubleshooting guide.

60" LG Plasma 60PA5500 (Sound but no Image)
I have a 60" Plasma that has no image.
I can hear the volume Up and Down, but has no image at all..
The model In the white label is PDP60R4XXXX
I got it that way, so I have no idea if there was some symptoms leading to this problem.
Thank you in advance for your help, or suggestions....

Re: Samsung HLT5075SX Bad DLP chip?
Update...
Hope this may help someone else.
I changed the DLP chip, and the white dots problem was fixed, but the issue with the power keept going.
After doing some research learned that I needed to reset the lamp counter/meter. (I did reset all to factory default but the lamp meter alone should do the trick)
So here is how. (all samsung DLP tv's )
Begin with the TV powered off.
Point your remote towards your TV.

Re: 50" Panasonic Plasma dead.
Just to update this thread.
After replacing the three big capacitors (450 v 220uf) I was able to hear the relays click, but still no go...
So following the flow charts in this excellent troubleshooting manual, I was able to pinpoint the problem in the GS board, so decided to take out the GS board...
And... BINGO !!!
I found a 5cts coin stuck in the SD card slot !!!
A pair of needle nose...Last edited by titodj; 01-28-2013, 04:44 PM.

Samsung HLT5075SX Bad DLP chip?
I got a Samsung HLT5075SX that was given to me, not working.
Following the service manual troubleshooting guide, I ended up replacing the DMD board, and sure enough the TV "works" again.
But it has two problems the "white dot syndrome" , meaning that the DPL chip is defective.
Now, the second problem is the one that I would like opinions/ideas on.
when testing the TV sometimes it wont start, and following the troubleshooting guide it seems like the DMD board has failed, but if I disconnect the power and wait a while the TV...

Re: ESR value for this cap
Thank you....
Actually is because of that thread that I'm asking, I had to move, so I put the TV on stand by, now I'm working on it again.
I started testing the ESR of the caps, because just by looking all look fine.
but I cant find a chart for the value for 220uf 450v
Any way the reading that im getting is different in all three, so I'm going to replace them, and see what happens....Last edited by titodj; 01-10-2013, 11:21 AM.

Re: RECAPPED Viewsonic VG2230WM died tonight.
From your image I can tell you that the four connectors on your upper left corner are wrong, the two blue ones should be on the top, and the two pink ones at the bottom.
I guess you already got rid of the monitor, but in case someone refers to this thread...

Re: 50" Panasonic Plasma dead.
I took out the diode next to what it looks like a yellow transformer.
And I'm getting a "beep" between the terminals where the diode was.
Thanks....

Re: 50" Panasonic Plasma dead.
If i use the continuity test between the two empty terminals where the diode was, I get a beep
If I use the diode mode I get 0.00 so I guess "yes"?
I get a shorts between the terminals.

Re: 50" Panasonic Plasma dead.
Thank you, I finally got to take the power supply off, and remove the diode.
off circuit reads "OL" on both directions.
So I assume the diode is bad.
Now, I have a few questions, should I look for something else in the power supply?
Is that diode alone likely the cause of the failure?
The diode is the Panasonic ST3D82 Diode Surge Protector
Should I just replace the diode and test? or test something else and then replace??
Also the first diode that I mentioned in this thread,...
