Hey same issue with same laptop. Did you solve it?...

Hello.

I had a dell laptop that shown an amber light as long as the power button was held, but nothing more.
After reflashing the 8MB Bios with some file found here, the behavior changed; The laptop tries to power on but no display comes up, CPU spins at max speed and after a second it shuts down itself. Retries a second time and shuts down again.
My service tag is 2G0ZY93
I'm also attaching a dump of the 8MB bios, but I guess it is corrupted.
Does some kind of signature is appended...

HEY! I desoldered the 2 FLASH IC's and reprogrammed them using the files found in the forum.
I could not take a dump of the 16MB one because I lost the chip, lol. (Had to buy another one). But at least the 8MB one was completely different to what I expected.
After reflashing and resoldering this the Amber light was gone and the laptop was trying to boot with a solid white light!
I will let you know if the laptop worked after I assembly it together again. But you should definitely try it!...

A little update.
I do see BIOS activity, but only when the charger is connected. Not when the power button is pressed.
I will try to perform BIOS dump to see if somehow is corrupted.

Did you found anything else? I have the same problem in a series 5000. There are at least a couple more in the forum...
In my case, I probed the BIOS chip but there was no SPI activity going on, which led me to think that the issue is happening before CPU reads from BIOS (if that makes sense) could it be that the MB is not powering the CPU ? Does that makes sense? I'm not familiar with what the normal power up sequence is.......

I have a similar issue that I posted at page 2 of this Thread:

Same amber light whenever I press the power button, but nothing else. Could our CPU be dead?https://I have a similar issue that ...no-power

Hello!
I'm a new user here. I wish I can collaborate in the future and not only seek advice. I revive this thread as it is the exact model I have and I've downloaded the schematics. Huge Thanks for that!
My laptop is 99.9% dead: When I plug the AC cable the LED turns white for a few ms then goes out.
If I press the power button, the LED turns amber for as long as I keep the button pressed.
Below are my voltages with the AC charger plugged in, the only 'weird' value is 19V_DCBATTOUT which is around 17V.
Other tests I've done:...
