is there a step by step for those of us without specialized equipment.
I've tried the "at home" reflow methods with poor results. I'd be interested to reball if it can be done without expensive equipment....

first try a different ac adapter, then you can either replace the daughterboard with the dc jack or try running the jumper wire as seen in the picture above. you've got to access the bios and see if the ac adapter is recognized. when you disassemble this model you have to be careful of that little ribbon cable going to the power button, it gets damages easily.Leave a comment:

did you ever fix this? I am in the same boat here. not sure if the capacitors are shorted or just reading that way due to the circuit?
