I have a Sharp Aquos LC-52D64U that keeps blowing fet pairs on the inverters.
I put in a new #3 inverter board, and it came up with a nice picture for a bit then blew the same pair on inverter board #1 across from it. I replaced these and it blew the same pair across from it on board #3.
In the time it was up, I couldn't tell if any of the tubes were dead.
Could this be a bad/shorted ccfl tube?
Bad transformer?
Any hints on how to test this. I have 2 more sets of good fets from the old inverter.

Re: Sony Bravia XBR KDL-52XBR6 - Bad Panel?
Ok. I'm thinking I have another 52 inch sony from a while back. I'll see if its an XBR6. I'm thinking its an XBR5 though.

Yes. It's always there. Tried different inputs as well. It's a shame, cuz it's in really good shape.

Re: Panasonic TH42PX60B
Looks like possibly bad tab bonds? Don't take my word for it though.
Someone will chime in here soon and help you out.

Re: Sylvania LC427SSX FIRMWARE - Anyone Have it?
USB. Copy the firmware file to a FAT32 formatted Flash Drive. Turn off the tv before inserting the flash drive. Turn on the TV and it should pop up with a message to update the firmware on the screen.
One note: Although this worked great for my Sylvania TV, when I go into the menus, it shows Maganvox. Not a biggie for me, but it may not be great for a customers TV.
This DID fix my audio problem.

Samsung LN-T3242H Turns on no Backlight (Fixed)
Putting this here for reference.
Symptoms:
Powers up, gets the little audio tune that plays.
Red LED Blinks 4 times, stays steady.
No Backlights.
Fix (For me).
Look at the inverter board. There are 3 fuses on the Inverter board.
Check all 3 fuses. In my case it was F3.
Here you can see I have a wire jumped across it until I can get the correct fuse.
Hope this helps someone....

Re: Sony KDL-40V4100 Blown out color
Here is how to get to the service menu:
Turn off the set
Hit Display, Vol +, 5, then power.
Here is the service menu. I can hit 2 and get to this screen which shows reset, but I have no idea what to do now.
I'm up for trying a complete reset, if anyone knows how to do this....Last edited by Neonpeon; 10-19-2013, 10:03 AM.

Re: Sony KDL-40V4100 Blown out color
It Looks ok, but I think it is because it has a mostly black background. Also, When I change settings on the tv, it flashes from dark to light. In the second it is dark, the image looks good. It is almost as if It has too much backlight which is washing out the screen?

Here's a pic showing the display with the Laptop in the foreground.
Might also mention that I am using the same HDMI port on all these pics....Last edited by Neonpeon; 10-19-2013, 09:37 AM.

Re: Sony KDL-40V4100 Blown out color
I can get into service menu. Just have no idea what to do after I get there. Now that I look at it with my hdmi cable from laptop going into it, it looks like the detail is all there, it just kinda looks like i am looking at it through a white milk carton. It's just washed out.
It's not faint on either side. It looks to be pretty much solid. When I use the NEC Pattern Generator on it, and it looks great. All the colors are crisp and detailed.

Re: Sony KDL-40V4100 Blown out color
Here is my Vizio 47 compared to the Sony with the same picture.
The Sony video settings were reset to default. (From the main menu, not from Service menu.)
I have cleaned the LVDS Cable, and tcon connectors.
Doesn't seem to change at all....

Sony KDL-40V4100 Blown out color
Can anyone recommend where to start looking on this one?
The attached picture is with the brightness turned down quite a bit. Overall the picture looks washed out when I reset the settings to defaults. It's kind of like what you would get by setting a computer monitor to 16 colors....

Re: Sylvania LC427SSX FIRMWARE - Anyone Have it?
I seem to keep answering my own questions here lately
Anyway. The Magnavox firmware DOES work. It only needs to be renamed.
Magnavox file: M42OS_107_AB.ecc
Sylvania file: L42OS_107_AB.ecc
Software History
Version 1.4 Audio missing on some analog cable channels.
Version 1.5 No picture when some DVD players are connected using HDMI.
Version 1.6 Missing audio or video when switching from one HDMI input to
another.
I have included the...

Sylvania LC427SSX FIRMWARE - Anyone Have it?
After a call to Sylvania today, it is apparent that I am not going to be able to get any firmware from them. According to 2 customer support people, and a manager, they no longer have access to firmware for their tvs.
I am having a problem with the Audio not coming back up after restarting the tv on the HDMI ports. Seems there is an update 1.6 that is supposed to fix this.
This is same chassis as the Magnavox 42MF438B/F7, I am wondering if I can flash it with this firmware.Last edited by Neonpeon; 10-14-2013, 04:16 PM.

Sylvania/Funai LC427SSX no backlight/Video
I just picked this up cheap at a yard sale, and want to see if I can get it going.
It powers on from standby and green led blinks several times, then stays on steady. The power supply voltages seem to be ok. It does not go into shutdown.
I cannot get the backlights to come up. While shining a light into the screen, I cannot see any resemblence of an image so I don't believe I have video, or audio.
I did locate a service manual, but would appreciate any help I can get to help me troubleshoot....

Re: SCEPTRE x425bv-fhd NO video Powers Up
No, Here is what I have when I plug in the tv.
I get a RED light, Standby mode.
When I hit the power button the light changes to Blue and stays there.
If I hit the power button again it still stays Blue.
I have to unplug the power cord to reset it.
I do not have any power going to the tcon at all, the backlights don't come up, however all the voltages on the power supply are correct.
However, once in a great while, it will start up and I get video on the screen and power on the tcon...
