  • Thank you so much. I found the chip on the other side (as shown in the image below). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    I tried a SOIC8 clip that came with my programmer, but it didn't connect properly. Would I need to desolder it using a hot air station? (Or would a standard soldering iron be enough?)....

    Hi, I have the same laptop and am currently facing the same issue. I have bought a ch341a from amazon, but I am very new to this stuff. I can't identify the bios chip. Could you help me identify if the bios chip is the one in the image below. Also, is it ok if I just flash the Engineering BIOS given or do I need to update anything on it. (I sent it for repair before trying myself but the repair guy ended up losing my original bios file without fixing the issue.)

    I am also attaching another working BIOS file I found....
