Sharp Aquos PN-LE801 shutting down
Hello,
I have a Sharp TV that is powering on with backlight and picture then after 5 seconds it turns off. The front LED blinks after shutting down.
I checked the power board voltages and have 12v, 5v and 3.3v on the standby when first turned on then the STB goes down to 1.4v after a second.
Where should I go from here?

Re: Dish Network VIP622 Power Supply Ticking
I am troubleshooting one of these boards, no power to secondary side.
Noticed there is a lot of weight in the middle of this long thin board making it bowed in the middle. When I look close with a magnifier I see a break from the transformer to R54. I soldered a jumper across the break and re flowed all the transformer legs and chassis grounds. It now works.

Re: Samsung SMPS
I have replaced QA1 and it now outputs 11 volts at VCC.
The unit turns on and stays on!! No more protection mode.
It looks like it is fixed.
Thank you for the help!

Re: Samsung SMPS
I get 2K Ohms at the outputs
I placed an order for that IC ICE2QS03G.

Re: Samsung SMPS
Yes I do. That is coming from the other transformer (T2)
It should, that was replaced (QA1) as well as CA8 and FL1.
But still no +/- 40 out of that transformer (T1)
I have nothing at IC5 for voltages...

Re: Samsung SMPS
I cant find a that diode or transistor DM4, Q10
166v on B+
332v QA1 drain
ICA1 has 2.3v on pin 7...

Re: Samsung SMPS
Yes I have. Thank you for that.
I will test all those you mentioned....

Re: Samsung SMPS
With everything hooked back up I get 3.2v at PS_ON. I still do not have +/- 43v out of the other connector to the main board.
I do have a blue ring tester, maybe I should check the larger transformer that supplies the 43v. I have read that some transformers can have thermal fuses inside.
I dont know what to check next

PS-ON goes up to 3.2v when the power is turned on....

Re: Samsung SMPS
You're right. I took the mainboard out and it says HW C500/C700 on the bottom....

Re: Samsung SMPS
When I plug the other output (43v) into the board it goes into protection mode then shutdowns shortly after turning it on.
Still waiting for my friend to get me the model number off of the DVD player.
Thank you for all the help guys....

Re: Samsung SMPS
The -36 volt output is reading what it should be. All of the outputs on that connector are good except for the 4 volt circuit. The 4 volt circuit is reading -32 volts on both +/-. When I read across the two (+/- 4 v) I get 3.2 volts.
The other output connector is missing +/-43 volts. Do those transformers have a thermal fuse? I dont think I am getting anything from that large transformer that should be supplying 43 volts....

Re: Samsung SMPS
SMPS P/N AH44-00 218A(110V)
I am not sure of the model number, its not on the unit. I think its on labelled on the DVD player, which is not with me.
The output on the board has it marked as +4V and -4V. They are both testing around -30 volts when on. I noticed the capacitors in that circuit are 25v.

Samsung SMPS
I have a SMPS from a Samsung AV receiver. It had a blown fuse, high voltage capacitor and power FET. I have since replaced those and it now turns on, but goes into protection mode and shuts down.
I noticed that I am missing the 43v output and the 4v rail is putting out 30 volts. All the other voltages check fine.
Can someone point me in the right direction on what to test?

Re: Samsung TV On Off Cycle Bad Capacitors, PLEASE READ, I need your help guys
Wow, quit blaming Samsung. This problem is in every electronic device out there. Right now I am replacing caps from Samwha in a Motorola barcode scanner. I have about 50 of these scanners to do for my employer. And I know my Motorola PVR at home has caps bulging that I will have to do one day. This is not just a Samsung issue!
