Sorry for the delay, this monitor is only a small part of a larger project I'm working on... And I was unsure of my ability to perform the required task.. Like I said before, this is the first time I've ever taken apart an LCD. I'm thoroughly surprised that I didn't break it.
So..
I plugged the ccfls into the sockets, and powered on the monitor to observe. Both lamps are only on for a second before turning off as expected.
However, I was able to see that one of the lamps doesn't even come on.
So I switched the sockets and again, the...

So the evident black, burnt looking ends of the bulbs are not a sure sign of bad/dying ccfls?

So this is my first time attempting to disassemble an LCD Monitor. (I'm really hoping I can get it back together when I'm done!)
Anyways, I found [URL="https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=147234"]smalltownguy's thread[/URL] about the same monitor I have, having the same issues I'm having. The monitor turns on and stays on for several seconds then goes black. The light is out, but I can still [I]barely[/I] see the image.
I've taken it apart and I believe the cold cathodes to be the problem.
So my questions are:
Am I correct in thinking...
