Tried the battery test, says "battery disconnected ".
Windows shows the battery life at 100% but the laptop shuts off when I unplug the ac adapter.
The laptop info screen shows a battery serial number, so It must see the battery. I'm at a loss...Leave a comment:

That appears to be a Intel Baytrail chipset Stream 13 in that thread, mine's an AMD a4-micro6400T . Would the charging circuit be different?Leave a comment:

Help on HP Stream 14 battery 601 error
Hi All. I have an HP stream 14 that hasn't been plugged in for a year or two. I recently got it out, reinstalled windows. Next step was upgrading the bios to F.06 Rev.A from the website.
Well, it won't charge. Getting a "601" main battery error.
So I ordered a new battery, put it in , same issue.
Tried "disconnecting the AC adapter and battery. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Reconnect power and try starting the notebook again." Did nothing.
