One question: the new bios, obviously, has an empty serial number. Is there any issue with leaving it blank, or should I re-enter it manually? Just wondering if the sn is picked up during software updates or similar scenarios and not having it could cause problems. I left it blank for now.

I don’t know what amazes me more, that I managed to desolder and resolder the bios without screwing up chip and motherboard, or that I stumbled upon this incredible forum with people like Quayyum786, thanks whoever you are wherever you are, it worked perfectly !!

downloaded the 6050A3022501-MB-A01sound fix final flash.bin file that, from what I gather, could be already what I need... but since I'm so crap at soldering I would...

Jedeone from Uk here! I'm a lousy diyer, but I'm fearless... in fact despite of my poor soldering skills, I just de-soldered a couple of bios chips of a laptop that has not been used for a while due to no bios access!
