Re: NLTDR missing....
Try to run scandisk on the drive in another computer. There is a slight chance that could fix it.

Re: Removing Dell Optiplex GX270 MB
I just recapped 4 of these things.
Remove the screw holding the metal tray the board is mounted on and pick up the green tab, the entire metal backplane the board is mounted on will come out of the case.
Taking the board off the tray is a little harder, I put one thumb on the edge of the board right above the keyboard ports and another by the pci slots, then push in the directions of the ide ports.
The cpu fan retention device and VRM heat sinks are pretty annoying too.

Re: AMD or Intel??....
When building a computer the motherboard is the most important decision to make over the CPU. The second would be the power supply, and third is the cooling fans. Unless you have an application that can benefit from one manufactures processor (which you may with video editing, I would check benchmarks) an AMD or Intel processor are both going to be more then fast enough.
I've seen a lot of AMD systems get a bad rap from system instability or random crashes. Then I open the case and see some $50 Jetway (crap) board full of GSC caps, inadequate...

Epox Extravaganza
After years of throwing bad boards away I finally got tired of wasting otherwise decent boards due to bad caps. Due to the great information on this site I've revived my first two dead boards.
An EP-8RDA and a EP-8RGMI. The 8RGMI had a single 470u out by the memory that kept it from booting and was an easy fix. The 8RDA had 4 1500/6.3 and 4 1000/6.3 teapo (t-blows) obviously out on it. My current fix works (passes memtest and boots) but is only temporary, as I scavanged other teapos of a board that had been cracked in two before the caps had time to go out.
I have...
